Listen to your actual consumer base and not the West Taiwanese Communist Party and release the damn game.

As a gamer, I don't give a shit about the issue. Really, my mind is full right now. I'm tired of the outside world issues. I just want to play

Wake me up when they won't release Diablo II for whatever reason. THAT would be something I could fume about :-P

Say no to censorship, release Devotion!

Oh wow. So they are not going to release it?

Did Winnie the Pooh fans threaten them? Why not just block it in China?

Not sure how many games I have but it's plenty. Integrated my Steam library and purchase almost only through GOG for over a year now. Just gifted a friend Hollow Knight this morning even though he usually uses Steam because I want to support the GOG store.

This is wild to me. A game approaching two years old and you announce and pull the release in the same day? If games are truly art by any sort of definition you need to stick to what you said. Art can offend. It can make people think/laugh/cry/whatever but forced omission is absolutely censorship. As soon as you're letting someone else dictate what you publish there's someone else pulling the puppet strings and that becomes anti-consumer. I may detest some of the visuals/story/etc. on certain games but it should be my choice on whether I play them or turn them off.

I claimed my free copy of Prison Architect you're offering today by the way. I guess it's fitting since GOG is allowing someone to build walls around what the company is supposed to stand for.

ShadowXOR: Absolutely disgusting. I won't spend another penny on GOG if they cave into the CCP's demands.
hmm is this the case?:O

Another vote here. I would have thought GOG had the sense to understand that China bots 'outraged' at something they had zero intention of buying anyway has zero bottom line impact on GOG vs actual GOG customers, but clearly not...
Someone needs to contact the Polish government and media to see what they think about this. Maybe no more free money from the govt.

I don't particularly care about the game itself, but I care about a government or people dictating what I can or can't access from a game store.

Until that game is not in GOG, I'm not giving money to GOG again.

Basically GOG caved due to a select number of Chinese players not wanting the game here due due to a controversial reference to Xi Jinping. (It got banned from Steam for the same reason.)

(Its fair to assume most if not all of these players are not even GOG members or had zero interest in even playing the game or buying the game, and GOG listen to them rather than its actually users about GOG and none related GOG things on their forums.)

GOG tried to hide that the above was the reason by saying "After receiving many messages from gamers, we have decided not to list the game in our store." in their tweet.
I agree!

And bring Hatred too.

edit: and in general other highly-requested games that were rejected but still function good overall and GOG is likely to make a profit off of. Honestly I'd be fine with Agony and that poorly-received Ultima Underworld spiritual successor showing up. (And highly-voted freeware ;)
