I'd like to add more games to the Hud Free Gaming Wiki - it explains how to disable the hud in various games.

What is this racism against hud's, what have they ever done to you, other than give you useful information?!

People that suffer from neurologically-based illiteracy or sight problems may be incapable to read numerical or peripheral onscreen values. Providing these additional (as you put it 'useful') effectively screen-cluttering data could be viewed as insensitive to the needs of those people.

Is there a similar site out there dedicated to increasing the number of hud elements on the screen in games? I want more hud elements, preferably programmable ones. 30" displays rock!

:oP
Hm well. In Fallout 3/New Vegas and Skyrim, it's as simple as turning down the HUD opacity in the menu, iirc.
There are mods as well but those are mostly for when you want your HUD back in certain situations or with the press of a button.

Also, Dishonored, I think that lets you disable all HUD elements individually.

Stumbled upon instructions for Deus Ex, too, have not tried these, but it seems you just bring up the chat thing (default key T) and delete "say", then command away.
If GOG ever gets F.E.A.R. 2, I really hope the hud can be disabled in that one. It was really annoying.

I'll try to remember to come back to this thread - It is really aggravating when a game is so nice-looking, but is plastered with HUD elements. I don't outright hate HUDs, but I wish more games had the ability to at least toggle them on/off.

tinyE: Here.
Such a nice epileptic-friendly game interface! I'm guessing its an overuse of some mod.
What game is it, BTW?

Nice. And to imagine this in motion...

I don't know. I Googled "too much HUD" and that popped up.

World of Warcraft, a raid of some sorts, with a healer friendly setup. Healer doesn't need to see the whole action, just his aggro level and the health of the rest of the raid. He also has a couple of mods to inform him when the Boss changes phase, so he can react accordingly.
Weird as it may sound, that is actually a good way to play.

You really know your WoW, sir!

Used to, but left it back in 2009.

Check the wiki. The solution is already there.
