It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Linux installations all over achievement unlocked! ....and everyone here is as happy as a clam at high tide.

A couple of minor annoyances though:

Are there any alternative desktop backgrounds in KDE that I can access WITHOUT downloading new themes? I could have sworn I saw some while trying it out through the live dvd but I can't find them now no matter where I look.

Firefox now shows everything with much smaller letters compared to how it was in Windows. Is there any way to make them bigger? I've tried altering the font size from the system settings but that only seems to change things for the OS.

Multiple congrats! You have made an amazing leap, both yourself and your roomates switched in a matter of days. Impressive!

Default backgrounds are contained within various subdirs of /usr/share/backgrounds/

Open FF Preferences and go to Content tab where you can change default font size or adjust in more detail within Advanced options.

In the desktop settings window just click the "Install Default Wallpapers..." button to download & install the remaining wallpapers. If you want to use a wallpaper from somewhere else then you can either use the "Open..." button & select it from wherever it is, or you can place it in ~/.kde/share/wallpapers/ to have it show up in the list of available wallpapers automatically.

As for Firefox, have you tried changing Firefox's own font settings under preferences?

Ha, ha, I was surprised myself with how smooth it all went.

I'll pass it along. :)

Here's the thing, I did that but only fonts in the menus were affected. When I try to read a site everything is tiny.

Yes. The browser menus were fixed. But when I try to read a site everything is still super small.

Have you checked your Zoom level?

No. Where is that located?

In FF new menu, just under Cut-Copy-Paste.

Or use keyboard:
Ctrl + + Zoom In
Ctrl + - Zoom Out
Ctrl + 0 reset to default

Finally, I can read without squinting! Thanks.
