So, we're nearing an anniversary of the 10th anniversary where they, uh, improved the store pages and still every sale thread since looks similar. Oh well, it's just gog I guess :)

Anyway, for those who want more sorting/filtering options and don't mind using user scripts, I've uploaded my script for store browsing (that I created back during last winter sale) to github.

This script adds a third, 'datagrid' view to the store page, where a single grid is used to display the whole catalogue (see screenshots). This way, all sorting/filtering is done in the browser, which is much more comfortable for the end user, although maybe not for gog servers. The whole data download is about 2.5MB in size though, so shouldn't be that big of a deal.

More details are available at the github page.

Note: I've only tested this in recent GreaseMonkey/Firefox@Mint and TamperMonkey/Chrome@Win10 combinations. No idea if the script will work in other versions/script injectors/OSes.

Slow clap and +1111111111111

I'd use it, but sadly it looks a bit bland and not colorful enough(some of us like our shiny colors and bright flashing lights, I guess).

Well, there's an option to show the thumbnail images for games too, like in the image attached. However, I turned it off by default for bandwidth reasons (+ they are so small you hardly can see what's on them anyway). But they are colorful if that's what you need :)

I guess most of that's not a big deal to me, other than the time left. *shrug* But I guess if it's enough to make people stop buying then GOG should do something about it. Not bad enough to me but there are various other vocal people here.

I agree with all those who said GOG needs a proper sale page.

They had one, and they still use it occasionally. So either use that for all sales, or create a new one.
Browsing with discounted filter on is just a weak excuse for a sale page.
I think it's strange that the Turmoil DLC is on sale but Turmoil isn't.

faroot: But as long as you're making suggestions, which browsers currently work 100% with the gog store and which ones don't?
I have been using Google Chrome for many months, in order to browse, buy and download off-line game installers from GOG, with no problems whatsoever.

Hope this helps.

RWarehall:
Might have spotted a few things that fell through the cracks over time? Sorry if they were intentional and I missed the reason, my bad then...
Noticed you put end date for Dungeon Keeper and Dungeon Keeper 2 sales in 2029, apparently since a sale back in February, so they've been listed as currently on sale ever since? And Regalia: Royal Edition and Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove have end dates in 2099 (only for current sale in case of SK:TT, since it wasn't also best).
Oh, and if you added Divine Divinity as having been free when it was given to those spending $5 in a sale, Sunless Sea should be listed as the same, right? (Though I'd argue that neither was actually free.)

OP-2019: Well, when I was going to school, we never had such promos. Hey, the store had only two type of bread.
In communism the things were different.
avatar
GameRager: That reminds me of the film Moscow on the Hudson(a performer uses a trip to the US with others to seek asylum in the US...great film)....and especially the scene where Robin Williams goes to the food store and sees all the selections.
Thanks for the suggestion, will try to find the DVD in local library :)
This is the movie, right?

Direct proof of one of the good reasons why you need separate sale pages...
