Well apparently this is a thing

http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/03/06/gdc-valve-experimenting-with-virtual-reality-half-life

Look we all know Valve have dropped the ball and waited too long but is this really the answer.

Anyone thoughts? opinions? ramblings?....
Well, I think the whole "virtual reality" thing is ridiculous and no way to comfortably play a game, and I don't like Half-Life, so the two should go splendidly together.
Of course they are, why wouldn't they? We already knew they're messing around with VR goggles and it's only natural to use already-built assets when testing new ideas.

Just like the guy before me said, they do this to test the tech (which I think is pretty great BTW) no one gonna force you to play the game in fucking goggles.

Or virtual reality goggles, for that matter :-D
Who needs goggles? If I want to experience a whole new reality, I just put on my headcrab.
HL3 is vaporware ffs. Enough already. Why give fans what they want when you can just design more hats that net you tons of dough?

HL is dead as Dillinger.

I don't see the problem.
Of course they're messing around with VR, a lot of the big companies are these days.
It's not like the entire company is just playing VR games now, there is most likely just a small team experimenting with it to see if they can make an interesting game for it and/or add the functionality to the Source engine.
