Heads-up card-slingers, weather forecast report for today reads: rainy with a chance of fireballs.

Which is to say a new update for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game has now been made available on PC, Xbox One and PS4 and it brings some Weather changes.

With this update, the main focus is to improve balance, solve some of the major issues that were affecting gameplay and adjust the prices for milling common and rare cards. Additionally, some cards will be subject to a limited-time refund in the form of an increase in the amount of Scraps awarded for milling them (note, however, that milling the Premium versions of these cards will not award Meteorite Powder):

•Ithlinne
•Clan Brokvar Hunter
•Vicovaro Novice
•Imperial Golem
•Commando Neophyte
•Vicovaro Medic
•Tibor Eggebracht
•Fire Elemental
•Dol Blathanna Protector
•Drought
•Mahakam Guard
•Queensguard
•Peter Saar Gwynleve
•Kayran
•Barclay Els
•Roach
•Ragh Nar Roog
•Savage Bear
•Impera Enforcers
•Ciri
•Wyvern
•Reaver Hunter
•Celaeno Harpy
•Cahir
•Rainfarn
•Villentretenmerth

Check out the full list of changes here.

S-aint: The only regret I hold in my 23 year old life is milling my whole collection(newbie player) to craft a skellige deck 3,8 k scrap. How can I make things right without selling my kidney for kegs?
Best lesson here, never do stuff like this in the beta phase of a game.
Porbably not allowed to make a new account and start over fresh.

BlueyesOwl: No update yet, hasn't released in EU servers ?
did you restart GOG Galaxy?
Some people here really take their Gwent too seriously :/

I've yet to spend a single dime on the game and been having fun collecting all the cards. Yet it's clear that some people on the game probably spend too much time and money on the game.

Speaking as an old player (been playing it since mid-last year) don't waste time milling the cards. Sooner or later your hyper-mega deck of 3X damage will hit a wall of über-players and you'll have no other alternative decks to play with.

EDIT: I too, in the beginning, was also stupid to the point of milling all the other deck cards in order to achieve the "Mother of All Decks". Stupid old me. After another update I was the proud owner of an almost useless deck :P

And I support CDP's decision to change the rules once in a while. It can be frustrating in the short run for those who are always trying to compete. But, in the long run, it helps keep things fresh.

Clearly you haven't lived much

I suggest you go outside and experience life.

rustylake: Much regret for previous milling and purchasing. Will there be any compensation?

GN0VSEE404: m2, i milled 2 days ago so so so so many cards at 5 points and now their sale value is 10.
Damn...
I hope they are thinking about a recompensation for those who scrafted cards
avatar
OuterHeaven88: Yes they are going to give us 30 scraps per keg purchased (with money)
avatar
GN0VSEE404: and for those who just played a lot and sold their cards at 5 points?
Nope you won't get anything. The information was freely available and we all knew this was happening. Not anyone's fault but your own you didn't.

It's a game dude. Get over it and stop being so entitled

Incorrect. One can make as many accounts as one wants. It's as simple as making a new GoG account

Im having trouble logging in, when i start Gwent, it says "Login failed. No license key detected."
Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
Can someone please explain what exactly should I do with the cards listed in this post? I should mill them or what?

in case you WANT to mill them you will get the value of scraps you'd need to craft them instead of the regular amount of scraps for milling a card. that's because those listed cards were nerfed and some people crafted them before. now they can "exchange" them for other cards without losing invested scraps.

I don't know if this is update related or just a surge in 'bad luck'.
Just had 3 'matches', where either I or the opponent has 'disconnected'. I forget the exact error message, sorry.
What is even more infuriating, is the points I was awarded for winning, were reset upon logging back in. (and i don't mean the daily reset. I started playing after the reset). To check the problem isn't with my connection, I had a quick round of hearthstone for the sake of comparison, and it was fine.

On a side note, Skellige card backs have been invisible for a couple of weeks now. Doesn't effect gameplay, just keg opening.
I realise this is still beta, but getting dropped from twenty-minute games is extremely aggravating.

Otherwise, an enjoyable game when things work as intended!

edit: my game has started updating. 13 hours late?
Why was I allowed to log in and play with an out of date client? confused :S

It's probably best to just mill them. If it turns out they're still good and you can't afford to wait to open them again from packs you just craft them again because you were offered 100% refund anyways.

Other than that, Savage Bear seems to be bugged. If you use a unit with lock (like Cleaver), after deploy resolves and the bear is locked, it still damages the unit while being locked.
But even without this it may turn out to be too powerful because most commonly used cards deal somewhere up to 5 damage and is still small enough to dodge big clears. It was already played and is now most likely a staple in any Skellige deck, just like pre-nerf Celaeno harpy was in all monster decks.
after the update i can't access the Card collection & shops it shows an error that the game has been crashed. All other things are working fine i even played few single player and multiplayer matches.

it's the age of monsters:)
Dear CDPR,

The changes you made to the ability mechanism of Priestess of Freya and Vicovaro Medic to prevent the Savage Bear counter against Nilfgard is making the matchup unfairly in favour of already overpowered Nilfgard. Please revert back to the previous system and just increase the streangth of Priestess of Freya to 2.

Yours faithfully,
CaptainStabfellow
Bug: King of Beggars doesn't keep gained base power on graveyard.
Wow, you have just so easily destroyed the whole Nothern Realms deck by nerfing their only reliable and valuable card of Reaver Hunters to the point of being unplayable, AND you upped the already overpowered Nilf and Monsters decks? WOW.

degamer106: Scrap compensation for purchased kegs and letting us get a full refund for certain cards is nice. What about the excess cards we milled??

edit: I purchased 60 kegs on Sunday with real money. I don't see any extra scraps after applying the patch!!

loiveli: You will get the compensation later today
has anyone been compensated yet?? still nothing for me.
