well, actually... it kinda does. Any payment form wont load anymore, until you allow pay.google.com and its relatives in noscript/umatrix/whatever extension you use to block third party trackers

That's great I use Google pay all the time and security online is something I really like.
Thank you.

That's bad, and worrying.
I use uBlock Origin, personally (Among others privacy addons).

I guess I will still have to use another browser for that sole reason.
I also just fill my wallet through PaySafeCard, and buy games while still protected in my main browser.

@GOG
Please remove background scripts from pages in which they are not needed.
If I don't use Google, or Apple, don't weigh me down with that crap.
As and when needed only.
It works ! : ) thanks for GPay^ !
checked again it works

edit you are welcome : )

Thanks for Gateways!! That was a nice surprise because I was clicking through assuming to find an image but instead found the redeem page.

I have to give my fingerprints to Google and Apple, to use this method? No freaking way!!!!
Don't care about this, but maybe now my cards will stop getting frozen every time I buy here.

Darvond: Okay, sure. But who is regularly funnelling their money into Apple/Google to such amounts as to actually make this a viable way to purchase 50 USD games?
Huh? Apple Pay a payment system, which is linked to a card you already have, but is more secure because each transaction gets a unique code, so if the store gets hacked, the data is worthless. Nobody can get your CC number or any identifying info at all. As far as I know, Google Pay works similarly. It had nothing to do with "funneling money" to anyone; what a totally bizarre reaction.

Apple doesn't even have fingerprint sensors on their phones now. So: no. Also you can just use a password.

GOG.com: [...] convenience and security are top priorities for us. [...]
Your top priorities are pretty much inherently at odds.
This actually sounds good. I remember for sometime now, there have been people who would occasionally post on the forums on being unable to use GOG's current payment methods due to credit card lock-ups and such. Perhaps, this will give people a more stable alternative.
It's always good to have more payment options.

My 2020 SE begs to differ. ;)
Most of their phones. ;)
More payment methods always are welcome.

Vendor-Lazarus: Google, Privacy... Pick one, not both.

As long as they don't load in the background until they're actually selected and used, and as long as you don't remove PaySafeCard.. Okay then..
I don't use those so cannot test extensively but in cart I only see ayden loading (in noscript) with just saved card.
Yeah, I personally would be highly against those Apple and Google backends loading in the background when not in use. I'm pretty sure they can gather all sort of telemetry by just loading their scripts.

Really? Well that's some BS. AND a GDPR violation to a degree.
It is strictly not neccesary from TECHNICAL standpoint for gpay to load to allow for ayden (a payment system backend) to receive related payment data.
edit: I just checked and you're right. Noscript by default allows entire *.google.com as trusted so I didn't notice that before.
It literally doesn't load my card saved way before gpay was introduced. This is seriously bad design.
AND a privacy violation (loading unrelated system should not be neccesary and it DOES expose some private info to it). There is even play google com loaded for WHATEVER REASON.
GOG seriously needs to fix this NOW.

GOG.com: New payment methods are now available
Also, speaking of payment methods, cryptocurrencies when?
Maybe also add Amazon payment if you REALLY care about broadening your financial gates so much.

there were some related discussions like 3 years ago or something, but it didnt go anywhere since there are next to none payment processors who accept these (I can only remember like one, used by starsector and soldak games on their own sites)
