Damn it. Just when we thought we had gotten past most of the issues we were getting for MD5 etc values in the last year or so ... now this.

That said, so far I have been lucky and nothing I have purchased recently has had an issue.

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed ... eyes, legs and arms too.

No issue that is, except for download speed, where it has dropped from 4.X Megabytes a second to just over 1 Megabyte. I am hoping that is just due to all the folk downloading, and that in a week or so things will go back to normal.

Poor old GOG. Things seemed to be looking up, now they have to deal with the fallout of this, with a lot of unhappy campers.

Starkrun: Ok strange thing, CDN is back and I rebuilt my manifest and ran a full verify but I have a bunch of failed MD5 which I know is correct because the downloads are corrupt.

I cant remember the command to make gogrepoc remove them and redownload them.

You need to add the the -clean flag to the verify command, that will orphan files that fail the checks.

I decided to run an update thinking the recent cdn problems had been solved, and so far its going well except the download speed: i think i could usually reach 40MB/s on average, and now i'm barely breaking 10MB/s. Just means i'll need more time for the whole process.
Galaxy on the other hand, is giving me problems updating Batlte Brothers on a W7 older pc i have: gets stuck around 90ish%, and will probably require a manual update.

Can't help you on that one. My connection can theoretically get ~100 MB/sec but the GOG CDN has never exceeded ~25 MB/s for me (for Windows, Mac is slower and Linux slower still and Extra's even slower but that makes: Extras are smaller and the OSs are roughly in the order you'd expect for install base so you'd expect proportionally less infrastructure )

So, I've fixed the MD5 issue where (an extra can be a duplicate of a real file for some silly reason), locally. I should probably implement a strict option, for people who'd rather potentially waste some storage space than get a false negative.

For the matching foldername / slug issue, my current plan is to run through the game list after an update, and if there's duplicate slugs, then append ( _ + (id) ) to the slug of all games. Does anyone foresee any problems with that ?

I'm getting a MD5 mismatch on the main Linux installer for atom_rpg_postapocalyptic_indie_game .

(Even after an update, so I guess this is a GOG error), anyone else having this issue ? )

(Just checked ant it's internal MD5 differs from the one declared in the website MD5 so I doubt it's only me)

Provisional fix is mostly done. Just need to change stuff that uses title to use folder_name instead but the hard part (detecting dupes and giving them appropriate folder names is done) .

Please contact me if you have a library that has 2 (or more) games with the same title/slug (ie the name used for folders). Otherwise I'm going to have to buy a pair for testing.

You can see the slugs of all games on gogdb.org.

I know one case where this would apply, but only one of the two games is available for purchase: Kayne and Lynch 2.
The german version and international version have the same title and slug, but if you live in germany, the international is locked and if you live outside the german one is unavailable.
But maybe someone with a sense for adventure used a VPN to buy both?

(edit: I just saw that the slug for the german version was changed at some point, so this game is not a example anymore)

As an alternative you can write a script that checks all game ids and retrieves the slug.

If you are not aware of any discrepancies in your collection, you might as well not check at all. That's what I do(also 2300+)
There is no need to look for an error if you have no problems.

Thanks. A lot of these wouldn't work for my purposes though (the pre-orders get resolved into the "normal" version by the time they hit your download library for example and DLC is stored as a sub level of the top level game).

I ended up getting the current releases of the Telltale Sam & Max games since I already had the old ones, so I'll test using those.
