Orkhepaj: good
wonder when linux kids will realize nobody cares about their 2%
For those who didn't notice, Orkhepaj isn't new here, and his true goal is to get his rep as low as possible. I have no problem with that, and will be happy to oblige. Hi Orkhepaj ! ;)

So what is GoGs warning about then? Is there online servers you can't access without GoG's loader?

Lone_Scout: You can create and join multiplayer games without using Galaxy or registering, and LAN play is also a thing.

The "Online multiplayer requires Galaxy" warning isn't true, for once
You just now thought to reply, 15 months after his last post?

Also, regarding SoR -- Are you sure you don't even need Galaxy installed for online multiplayer? Because I've never had it installed, and when I once idly tried to select "join a game", I got a message to the effect that Galaxy is required. (I'm pretty sure that there are other games that use Galaxy's multiplayer services that don't require the Galaxy client itself to be open.)

Just saw the message today, while checking other things... necromancy is a healthy behaviour, regardless what the forum rules say ;)

Maybe the game needs some of the galaxy dlls to join multiplayer? but i'm totally sure it works without galaxy running... that needs some further investigation.
OP has probably decided what to do but for what's worth, I tried the Steam version on a computer that doesn't has Steam installed and while the game runs fine (as expected) the multiplayer asks to log on Steam or Galaxy. I assume it's the same on the Linux version.

Edit: have the Linux version saved on a external HDD, so went ahead and booted Linux to check and it's pretty much the same "you're not logged to Steam or Galaxy".

Zetikla: as of currently, linux players make up for a very low percentage of userbase, be it gog or steam or any other platform.

Companies more often than not wont assign ressources to develop for a platform with a minuscule userbase, its just as simple as it gets.

And thats not to say some devs wont go out of their way to support Linux, but more often than not it doesnt makes sense financially.
The only reason Steam bothers with Linux us because they get money for purelly existing. They have sank millions in projects that went nowhere.
