It's been quite a while since we last heard from these games. The last adittions were mainly action and graphical adventures, and also a shooter, Outlaws. All of them excellent games but as I recall there are still Star Wars games unreleased on digital distribution... Where is Shadows of the Empire? Where is Force Commander? Where is Star Wars EPISODE I Racer? Where is The Phantom Menace? Where is Battle for Naboo? Where is Jedi Starfighter?

I know that those titles were the "weakest" of all (not all but some of them definitelly), yet they had some kind of appeal to Star Wars fans. I myself preferred Force Commander over Galactic Battlegrounds, at least it wasn't a re-skin from another game but one builded from the bottom. Now don't get me wrong, I like GB, yet I also want to play Force Commander and all the other titles aforementioned.

After all, your site stands for Good Old Games right? Then why the hell every day I come here I see more indie trash (WARNING, I'm not saying indie games are bad, but for every single good indie game we get we also get 10 pieces of trash which outnumber the good ones) or games that were released "yesterday"? What happened to those so called good old games? Where are they? I can dig why you didn't releassed Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle or Maniac Manssion (remake at the works by Double Fine), but again WHAT ABOUT THOSE STAR WARS GAMES?!!!!

A reply would be appreciated.

Too niche, and not in beta. Who'd touch stuff like that?
I'd already be happy with a non-shitty version of Loom, or Monkey Island without the cancerous "Special Edition" masses.

As for the Star Wars titles: some of them may be pretty hard to get running on modern systems, Shadows of the Empire and Episode 1 Racer in particular. And as far as I know, Jedi Starfighter seems to have been a console-exclusive title.
GOG has generally been lacking in classic releases recently.

Heh. Well, let's see.

If Disney doesn't want to sell the game, GOG can't sell it.
If the game was only released on console (as at least one of your mentioned titles), it'll have to be ported, or GOG can't sell it.
If the game isn't in a stable enough state, GOG won't sell it.
If the rights are split between LA and the secondary publisher (as some of the titles you list are) then maybe Disney can't offer it, and thus GOG can't sell it.

Or, you know, they're not selling it because they don't want to make money and your four seconds of incoherency will surely turn this all about. Maybe they just hadn't heard of those games and needed a reminder, hm?
Is it that time of week again?

I'm not going to argue the special edition stuff again, but what's wrong with The Loom?

A whole wall of Lucas text and not a single mention of Strike Fleet. Whatever bro.

They only included the talkie version, which cut out or shortened a LOT of the original version's dialogue. This is because they decided to encode the speech as redbook audio instead of some compressed format, giving them very little discspace to work with, so now all the flair and atmosphere from the original dialogue is gone, replaced with what is essentially pure exposition. I think they also removed most or all of the close-up portraits of characters.

As far as I can see, the GOG version only includes the CD version, and not the floppy version. While the CD version had full voice acting, I seem to recall that it was also slightly cut down, content- and puzzle-wise compared to the floppy version. As such, it would be much preferable to have both versions, as is also the case with many other games from that period that came in both CD and floppy versions.
Yeah, I was hoping Episode I Racer was going to make it to GOG, but now I wonder if we'll ever see it...

Ah. Well, I guess it would be good to have both versions here, but I'd still take the "talkie" version. I greatly dislike long dialogues with dead silence in games.
We sent our best pilot to retrieve the missing part of the map telling us where the games are, but he hasn't returned.

Regarding your first point... It was Disney the one who aproached GOG in the first place to release all these tittles for the first time through Digital Distribution

Regarding your second point... True, Jedi Starfighter was a console exclussive BUT THE REST HAVE ALLREADY BEEN PORTED OR WERE PC TITLES FROM THE GO THEN PORTED TO CONSOLES

Talk about stability? GOG has covered allmost any single year Lucasarts launched a title. I find really hard to believe any if not all of those games couldn't be made stable to todays OS.

Splitted rights? The only games from Star Wars distributed by a company other than Lucasarts were Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy (Activision). And even outsourced production (Pandemic, Factor 5, Ensemble Studios, Totally Games, Raven Software etc.), the IP belonged originally to Lucasarts, which was a part of Lucasfilm, which Disney now owns (unfortunatelly for the most part) COMPLETELY, meaning theyown ANYTHING that has the name Star Wars. The last time I checked the news Disney hadn't recessed it's agreement with GOG to launch the old Lucasarts titles.

Bottomline, get your facts right before spitting any more bullshit and getting even more negative rep. I don't mind, funny replies loke some users have made allready, but I definitely don't need trash-talk as a post reply.
