First of all, I apologize if this topic has been discussed already. I didn't find any topics concerning the new website.

How does the forum community feel about the (relatively) new GOG-website?

Personally I like the new look, but it got so simplified, that finding relevant games became difficult and time-consuming.
All I can see in the 'browse games' screen is a title, a video and a price. There aren't any tags, no description, nothing.
I used to enjoy browsing the old site in search of interesting titles, but the new website makes this no longer enjoyable for me. I wonder if I'm the only one feeling this way...

best regards

Yes, it's well known and there are several topics on the matter, which you can see on page 1&2. It's unlikely to get better.
You are not the only one who feels that the new site design is unnecessarily cluttered.
Browsing through the storefront has become an annoying chore.
Especially during sales.
Doomgog soon?
And I for one am going to boycott GOG until they fix it!

I will never buy another game from this sham of a store.

NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER....Hey how are those Soldier of Fortune games? Not big on shooters but 20% off, I can't pass that up! And Steel Rats is still on sale, gotta have, and you know that new set of VNs are calling me. They aren't even discounted, but fuck it, I got money. I can't wait to snag em, along with Bad North and Surviving Mars, Frostpunk, and Witcher. I already have Witcher, but hey, there is no law against buying it again! :D

HERE
As long as I can still buy and download my games from the website, and find my way to the GOG discussion forums, I'm fine.

Both requirements are still fulfilled also with the new design, so yeah, I'm fine thank you very muchos grandias por favor.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks
You know, I hope GOG is collecting these threads. There are about a million of these now, which proves that GOG has screwed up the site design.

that or it proves that a lot of the people here are WAAAAAAAY too uptight. :P

or...

I used to.
1. See a new game on GOG.
2. Visit the store page of that game on GOG
3. Read reviews on STEAM.
4. Buy the game on GOG.

Now..

1. I see a game on STEAM, check its store page, read reviews and buy it on STEAM.

I have 600 games on GOG. It won't expand as long as GOG has that terrible design.
Yeah, I don't mind the site, as long as I can still buy and download games.

It could be encrypted using some cipher I've never heard of, or be as plaintext as the first website ever.

I do wish GOG would do more to shake off users of IE11.

I agree with posts saying that a lot of people are too uptight. It isn't like this redesign killed your dog or your mother.

To put it simply:

GOG just outdid themself and they really did a great job with the new website which is incompatible with multiple browsers (and GOG refusing to adapt), not showing crucial information for discounted offers, not offering customer friendly filter options or display options, adding unnecessary "curated" section which is nothing more than a preset filter, not showing daily deals anymore, broken sort options and... and ... and ... Yes, GOG really did an AMAZING job - congratulations!

If their goal was to sell less games that is.

Yeah, maybe I simply demand too much. I would also like to FIND the games I want to buy and not miss good offers because GOG just being to ... I don't know. Lazy? Stupid? Incompetent? I am a big fan of GOG that's no secret but I just cannot understand how it is possible to pull out something that unusuable and customer unfriendly. Even if it would not be broken it's just far from being good, professional, effectice or any other positive adjective.

Yeah, maybe I am too uptight but if something is bad I call it bad. That's the way I am.

And @GOG: If you should have your reasons, plans or whatever then please don't complain about my critizism before you finally TALK about it. If I just misunderstood everything you can say something but that's another thing that just does not happen anymore. Communication? What's that?

If you can't figure out what games are on sale, that is your own issue to deal with.
