I can't.
I invested my last dime into research for the artificial appendix.
I don't know much about JRPG's or 'anime' games so I can't comment too much. However it is always sad that we don't get a game on gog if there's sufficient demand for it, and it appears in this case there is.

paladin181: What's the excuse here? Many XSeed releases and several Wizardry releases. What is the fucking excuse for this? "We're too big for you now."? Jesus Christ on a crutch.
Maybe there is a chance if they see enough of us want this game and others like it. Then again, maybe this is part of a continued shift to a new audience where games like this get rejected. I hope not...I like it here!

Hey GOG, if you are insistent on committing suicide, why don't you just get on with it.

If you're scared, I'm sure that EPIC will be to be more than happy to be your Dr. Kevorkian and help you along.

I think it's very rude of GOG to snub XSEED, especially since XSEED releases all its games here and takes the time & energy to give GOG customers Achievements, unlike many/most other devs.

I also don't see how this Wizardry game is any worse than games like Mary Skelter and/or Bard's Tale IV and/or Lords of Xulima which are all similar games that GOG happily sells.

And surely Wizardry is also a lot better than the non-game movies GOG sells as if they are games, such as Dragon's Lair and Space Ace.

Rejecting Wizardry is another example of why GOG's curation is a useless service that should be abolished.

Abolishing curation would be in the best interest of both GOG and its customers.

It's a waste of GOG's money to pay employees to curate games.

And it's also a loss of income for GOG for the games that they will never sell simply because they paid their employees to reject them for no good reason.

In other words, curation on GOG literally accomplishes nothing other than a) reducing GOG's profits and b) ticking off its customers who can't buy the games they want to buy.
It certainly does seem as though the curation process for GOG has run its course, doesn't it? I wouldn't be opposed to them opening the gates a lot more.

Maybe just keep the AO games out, or maybe not even that. They could really grab a lot of business from Steam if they wooed indie devs and gave them good exposure without requiring bribes.

GOG is really in a position to make a big move. It just needs to get itself together and sacrifice the ideals that no one actually wants, instead of the ones people value.

Respectfully,
-Cym
As I said in the other thread about XSEED's release of Wizardry, I would have bought it just because it's XSEED. A little pissed about the situation, but I'm really curious what the reason was. I doubt it could be a low quality port, it'll be interesting what the reviews on STEAM end up being like.

Seriously, people. This has gone too far. If this store thinks they are the place for people to pick up MAUI MALLARD and other rancid, terrible versions of extremely mediocre console platformers and NOT WIZARDRY, well, then it's not the store for me anymore.

I will be picking up Wizardry on Humble Bundle where I get BOTH a DRM-FREE version AND a Steam code for it.

I'm seriously dissapointed. GOG sucks

I like the Sir Tech Wizardry series just not this kind of "Wizardry". This game leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm not going to comment on curation but actually bother to vote on the wishlist if you are interested should be prioriority even if there's no guarantee that it will arrive here.

I'm not sure that Wizardry is really a fine fit here.

Yes, I know 3 of the games are here, and I've never once thought to give them a try.

See, Wizardy is from the, "Go make your own damn map" and "You died? Sucks. Roll a new one." mindset of gaming, which is something I no longer have any desire for, since there's not slot on my computer for quarters where quarters would be intentionally taken, and not the byproduct of a toddler.

See, I was born into the age where growing up, where archaic thoughts such as, "We're going to play an entire campaign" and "I dunno, use a notebook" were being left by the wayside.

You didn't have to manually decipher the runes at the Desert Palace or upon the Master Sword's Pedestal, nor did you have to bring up an incantation menu to manually type out Quake. Sure, there were several puzzles, and sometimes the later dungeons were quite labyrinthine, but not so byzantine that you'd need to refer to an external map.

Also, if you're really insisting about the game being here, maybe drum up a little more support for it, seeing as Coffee Grounds of the Mad God has over 1.5x the votes.

Trudat bruv. GOG is in the big leagues.

I know I've got all of my cash lined up for the Halo: The Master Chief Collection releasing day one here! It's great that GOG is protecting our wallets from this kind of stuff so we can save up for the big AAA releases flooding through.

Yes, thank you. Eyeroll.

That wasn't exactly the point I was making. I'm quite open of arms to indie games that encourage the player rather than punish them. Forager, FEZ, Avernum, etc. Just because I don't want to pick up a Cat5 o' nine tails, and give myself 40, doesn't mean I'm some dumb jock who wants the mainstream titles.

I was blown away by the original Wizardy, but playing it now would be like going online with a 14.4 modem.
Not surprised by this given how much noise we had to make to get Drakkhen here. And there's several more old games on Steam that we know gog rejected that are still not here.
