andreasaspenberg2: i can use either my steam version of age of empires 3 or my disc version on my other pcs which have directplay. my new pc no longer supports gaming after a new patch.
Did you enable direct play in the settings? After the update? Sometimes Windows changes settings during updates. I have the latest win 10 and zero problems running AOE 3 or any other direct play games I own.

Right now that's up to Microsoft, not GOG. Be sure to contact Microsoft and (politely) let them know you want AOE here.

i can no longer enable directplay because turn windows functions on or off is completely empty after a patch. there is nothing there so, all i can do is click ok or cancel.

Microsoft is immune to Wololo spell, so I'm affraid no AOE here soon.
Unless u have Charisma Googleplex level.
