Hello GOG community! I'm new here, and the reason I migrated over is because Steam, over the course of the past year or two, has become even more blatantly anti-consumer. Honestly, I should've seen it coming, because Steam is essentially just a monopoly now. So, plenty of people that I know are fine with jumping ship to GOG to buy the Witcher 3, but then they realize that the store is missing a huge amount of new titles. IK that this is a huge part of GOG (hence the name), but if they can find a larger variety of new titles with no DRM, then I think the new Galaxy platform could grow to be quite the thorn in Valve's side. If GOG has serious intent to end this monopoly and gain market share, it should use this moment well and try to gain as many users as possible while discontent with Valve is at a peak.
GOG does have market share. About 8-9% if I remember the numbers correctly.

But you're right, this is an excellent time for GOG to be using a marketing vacuum cleaner to scoop up this tidal wave or energy.

A wise man once said, 'when life hands you lemons, you turn them into lemon hand grenades and hurl them at the enemy, blasting them into bite sized pieces until nothing is left but victory.'

So, that thing about making lemonade was all bullshit?

Yes. It was a modern, hippie-like retconning of a military axiom from a time long ago. Any real student of history knows all about the fruit-and-vegetable war of 1297 AD. Damn revisionists.

The name is GOG, not Good Old Games anymore. The site hasn't been limited to older titles for years. So yes, GOG should have more mainstream titles. However, the problem is that it's not just up to them.

Yes they would. The pineapple & banana alliance totally kicked those mango's ass, it was awesome. Lemmons were never more than ammunition, not sure why they are so highly remembered these days.
Erm, I think gOg should wait to see how the whole thing blows over before doing anything marketing-wise as it relates to the new stink over at the other shop.

For starters, it just happened and there are some bugs for Steam to work out. If they figure out over time how to make this a decent deal for the mod creators and the IP-holders of the games upon which those mods are based, then the wrong marketing move from gOg could backfire and force them into a corner in some manner.

That's a single problem. Now imagine the mess here if their market share were to jump by 30-50% in a short time span, say, three months. You think this place is ready for that? Get used to seeing a lot more of the ever-lovable gOgBear, an increase in support times, etc.

But hey - it's not that we've seen mistakes in gOg's marketing the last few years... "Good news!"

Oh, I get it, so, The Holy Grenade of Antioch was really a pineapple, that makes perfect sense to me now, Thank you!

The war documentaries really got to me. That image of seeing the huge pile of decaying orange peels... just baking in that hot sun. Had to go outside and get some air. It was too disturbing to digest. Hopefully we've learned some important lessons from that terrible conflict. Lest we have to repeat it.

While we do throw ourselves when attacking, we don't have a habbit of using self-destructive attacks under holy names. If we have to use such attacks, at least we'll do so under the name of practicality.

Good times. Plenty of juice to go around.

Some illiterate people just mistake those lemons for the praiseworthy Banana Bombs. You know, they both are yellow.

That's where the term 'yellow' came to mean 'coward.' He's running from battle... he's YELLOW. See, there's lot of phrases that still linger long after the last tomato was thrown.

People's ignorance of the masses disgusts me. Sometimes I wonder why we sacrifices so much to contain those treacherous mangos, maybe people would be more grateful if we had let them taste their dominance for a while before destroying them.
GoG have no qualms about kicking Steam in the ribs as politely as possible (very British of them) when they can attach something relevant. Like for example, reminding everybody about their excellent refund policy right after Steam gets criticized for its appalling refund policy and customer service. Perhaps I lack imagination, but I'm not really sure what message marketing can promote this time around regarding mods.
