Is there a best day or time to download games? Usually speed is not an issue, but lately is less than 1 MB a second, which, as you can imagine, is painfully slow.
I know Australian speed internet!
I've been noticing that the GOG servers have been running slow as well. Is there too much server load right now?
Noticing this as well of late. Used to get at least 900 KB/s or better, but now lucky to hit 700 KB/s and usually around 500.
I peaked at 25.5 MB/s not too long ago (25 MB/s is my max according to my ISP). Lately it has been slow and I've been getting around 10.6 MB/s no matter the time of day.
Yesterday in the evening (CET) I got 20-22 MB/s, but in that same time frame during working days I haven't been getting more than 10.6 MB/s lately. The 10.6 MB/s has been a very constant speed lately.
Wow. And here I am browsing at 128Kbps.
:(

I really need to get a decent job.

Hopefully the NBN will get finished and we'll finally have decent speeds. The cables have actually been put in at my street, but I've yet to be contacted to have the box installed etc.
I love how great all your speeds are, I am stuck at .28 (that is a point)mb. I have a supposed 3mb up and 300k down at the very best of times. Fortunately I never get less than 240k down when I download from gog

But that's TEN TIMES the speed of a well-proven 28.8kbit/s modem, what are you complaining about?

That's only since earlier this year and probably a result of the Ziggo and UPC merger here. I think they streamlined their contracts, settings, etc. Guess as a UPC customer that was in my advantage as I hadn't had speed changes for a few years.
I went from 25 Mbit up, 15 Mbit down to 200 Mbit down and 25 Mbit up. I'm not complaining :D

Competition helps, though it's decreasing here. Ziggo and UPC were no competitors as both are cable ISPs and there's no overlap in networks here. ADSL can't get the speed cable can.
Fiber is getting more and more available here, which is a big competition for cable. In some of the more remote areas where high speed internet isn't available, people have come together to get their own fiber network.
In the past with ADSL we've had a lot of ISPs. It helped to get rid of download limits, increase speeds, etc.
Yeah, I've noticed the speed is still slow many days later.
