Maybe... The dragon in the screen background and the fact that Skyrim LE is free to play on Steam this week-end are huge hints.
Well, whatever the case may be on Monday, my wishlist jumped from 11 games to 71.

Amazing,how did that happen?

Dunno. It was all a blur.
Suscribed.

HunchBluntley: You missed the semicolon on the end of the decimal code for the colon, and the hex code for the apostrophe should just have 27 following the percent sign, rather than 2527. (To be fair, I failed to even notice the apostrophe in the URL when making my earlier reply.)
EDIT: I see the decimal code for the colon gets changed into a "real" colon after posting (it should be "[ampersand][pound]58[semicolon]"), so if you make an edit (or expect the code to work when quoting it in a reply), you'll have to replace the colon with its code again before re-posting. Curiously, this doesn't happen with the decimal code for the apostrophe (nor with either symbol's hex code, so it might be better just to use that).

ZFR's post is very helpful when trying to get a handle on this crap. (There's also some other workaround for links that has to do with placing them inside quotation marks, but I forget what circumstance that's good for.)
Of course, credit where credit's due -- none of this would be necessary if GOG had even remotely decent forum software.
I copied and pasted both of the links you posted. The decimal codes link didn't work; as far as I can tell, it's identical to what I used. The hex codes link worked, though. Thanks for the help. I'll take a look at ZFR's post. I'm sure it'll help in the future because I'm sure GOG is never going to fix or replace their absurdly broken forum software.

Leroux: How did you even make it that far? For me it crashes right after the intro. I thought the GOG version would run better than the Steam version, but nope, I never even get to try the actual game before it crashes.
This guide lists a bunch of bugs and how to fix them. The crash you describe is one of them. The game works well for me after I fixed it, sans an occasional crash.

Luned: Somehow I suspect that if I'm given any of the games off my wishlist, it'll be Deadly Premonition at its near-constant 90% discount of $2.49, and not, say, The Journey Down, but anything off my wishlist will be welcome as a freebie!
avatar
finkleroy: If you do happen to receive Deadly Premonition for free, you should be stoked. My coffee tells me that if you can put up with having to use a fan-made patch and occasional crashes, you'll be treated to a bizarre yet brilliant game. What do you think, Zach?
For me DP runs fine without any patches.

You might consider checking out the patches and fixes in the guide, anyway. There are some color saturation issues and the vanilla version is stuck at 720p. The difference between 1280x720 and 3840x2160 is noticeable enough to me that I recommend at least checking it out and seeing if you notice a difference.

Cambrey: Unless... in Poland April Fool's day is on the 15th.
Nah, there's is the first as well.
April Fools' Day is called Prima Aprillis in Poland. It is celebrated on April 1st.

Sjuan: How will GOG determine who are active members?
avatar
Digital_CHE: I suppose that ACTIVE MEMBERS are the people that BUY games on GOG very often.
Well I'm out. Haven't be able to buy a game in three months and tickets are still open. *grumble*

Very helpful, thanks a lot! I got it to run this time. :)

It's getting quite off-topic, but what is your opinion on this?

When I read about all the issues with the vanilla release, I installed all the patches and fixes and such, so I've only ever played it with SweetFX, so I don't have anything to compare it to, except the opening cutscene that runs every time you launch the game, which looks noticeably worse than the game does in-game. I didn't even think about the fact that I installed the patch, which tells me that it makes the colors look normal.

After all this discussion about Deadly Premonition, I hope they give it to someone for free. :)

EDIT: Make sure to regularly backup your savegame. The game only has one save slot. It's never happened to me, but a lot of people have said that their savegame became corrupted, especially around chapter 9.

Cautious there, but would be glad to be proved wrong.

finkleroy: GOG tweeted that they will grant thousands of items on users' wishlists for free on Monday, so now's the perfect time to make sure yours is in order! Here's the entire tweet:

Many out of ten gamers agree: a healthy wishlist means a happy lifestyle. Especially on Monday. Here's why:
-We're granting thousands of wishes to GOG users for #free!
-The most wishlisted games will get super cheap!

Awesome, right? But we're not mind readers, so you know... (START YOUR WISHLIST)

finkleroy:
I'm going to be a little cynical and say that "thousands of wishes to GOG users for #free!" means that they'll be offering a game from the Community Wishlist that's sitting at 1000+ votes for free, for a limited time. (I feel like they did something like that some time in the past, with a release of a classic or indie game that was in moderate demand.)

xenolego: Why do you guys suspect GOG would have some weird motive? They aren't Valve.
In a nutshell, arguably the most memorable times that GOG announced a piece of "Good News", was (a) when they went back on one of their core founding principles and introduced Regional Pricing, and (b) pushed Galaxy as a piece of GOG's core functionality. At both points, these were billed as customer-positive, but many saw them as cynical and insidious customer-hostile ways for Corporate to make more money while at the same time dialing back on the amount of control they were giving to customers.

Me, I'm going to wait and see what happens on Monday before I reach for my own torch and pitchfork.

You mean to tell me I've been wearing this tin foil hat all these years while on GOG for nothing???

wizisi2k: OK so it's a sale coming maybe.
Not maybe. The wishlist-sale is confirmed since yesterday.
