TARFU: The only thing awry here would be any type of complaining about GOG rewarding customer loyalty with ANY free game. Even if the game is only 0.49 cents and GOG adds it to my account, I'll gladly accept it, download it, and play it.

I am not expecting anything free in this life and I am not entitled to anything at all, so even the smallest gift is a blessing. It truly is the thought that counts. If GOG gives us free games or does not give us free games from our wishlist, I am happy either way. Thanks for even existing, GOG.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: I am confused about how GOG is able to promise that. I thought that GOG was only able to set sale prices if the IP holders of the games agree to that first, and that GOG could not set discount percentages higher than what the IP holders agreed to beforehand.

Is that not correct? If it is, then how can GOG guarantee that they will be able to make the most wishlisted games super cheap, when they don't yet know what games those will be, nor if their IP holders will agree for them to become super cheap?

Alternatively, if how I thought the setting of prices worked is not actually how it works, then how does it work?
GOG already knows which games are on sale next week, and publisher negotiations are already done. They know we have no way of confirming which games are the most wishlisted games.

Somehow I suspect that if I'm given any of the games off my wishlist, it'll be Deadly Premonition at its near-constant 90% discount of $2.49, and not, say, The Journey Down, but anything off my wishlist will be welcome as a freebie!

If you do happen to receive Deadly Premonition for free, you should be stoked. My coffee tells me that if you can put up with having to use a fan-made patch and occasional crashes, you'll be treated to a bizarre yet brilliant game. What do you think, Zach?

Oh, I'll be happy. The reasons I haven't bought it yet are: a) it's almost always on deep discount; and b) I've promised myself I have to work through some backlog before buying any more games, and Earthlock is taking a while to finish (a game I'm also enjoying---I never got around to playing the original release under the Earthlock: Festival of Magic title, but the current version runs smooth and is fun to play).

Absolutely. I used this guide to fix it, and I strongly recommend it to everyone. At the very least, you need to use dpfix. The game's pretty good once you fix it up, but in its vanilla state, you can't even set the resolution, so it's stuck at 720p. The guide helps you fix some other things, as well.

The forum software doesn't like that link for some reason, so the formatting is messed up. Also, the first link I posted sends you to a page that says "Bad title", but the link I just replaced it with seems to work. Go figure.

If I get a game on my wishlist for free, it will mean a 100% discount for Expeditions: Vikings as my wishlist is only 1 game long. My backlog however...
