Yeah I hope so, the RETRO code was great.
I used it for some games with always low discounts.
avatar
phaolo: I tried these after the RETRO code, but they say
"This promo code requires a different number of paid orders in your account."

Does anyone know what it means?
Is it only for new accounts?
avatar
Palestine: Such codes may only be redeemed at checkout on accounts which had not been previously used to make purchases.

Also, in the event that anyone is curious, account creation date is not a factor; the lack of prior orders seems to be the sole prerequisite.

Hopefully, in the not-too-distant future, GOG will offer additional promotional codes without such limitations (similar to RETROGPP15).
Do you have any insight on code: GOG15

When I use it I get the message “This promo code is not active” instead of “This promo code is invalid”.

Where I got it from says it was valid during the Black Friday sale. Maybe it is enabled a few times during the year? Could be worth checking it every now and then.

While attempting to apply the rather old (from 2024, as far as I recall) MakeWarcraftLiveForever at checkout, the very same "This promo code is not active." is displayed.

So, “... is not active.” is simply GOGlish for: "... is expired."

It is possible that GOG may, at some point in time, re-activate such a generic code (GOG15), but, it does seem as though they favor generating new codes, rather than recycling (whether for technical, marketing, or other unknown reasons).

By the way, here is another active 10%-off checkout code for first-time purchasers only:
GOGFTW10

I could swear the site that released the other two 10% off codes, did not provide any specific information other than they were discount codes. Now for GOGADV10 it says they are for first time purchases only. Can’t find anything on the other one.

The code is for first time purchases and you specified it. My bad, again.

Will use it toward the ever growing “alt” accounts farm...

Isn't it annoying to have all your games scattered in multiple accounts just for a 10% discount, tho?
Also, alts are against the TOS, so if GOG catches you, they could block some of them.
(yeah they can't revoke DRM-free installers, but the point of buying instead of pirating is to be legit)

Io stare schezando (I was joking).

I guarantee you there is a plausible explanation, just not one that I am going to make public.
I hope you can respect that.
I have a feeling that the New Year Sale 2026 will be on Friday Jan 23rd 2026. Seeing that there have been no new small sales event/promo these past few days and the way all of the current ones are ending in the next 3 days or so.

I wonder if they will also announce some big anticipated releases attach with the New Year Sale like Resident Evil 4 or Ghostwire: Tokyo for example that had been unofficially confirm leaks. Maybe they will surprise us with something unexpected.

For users that use the GOG discord, any news on the New Year Sale for 2026?

Last Year a New Year Sale started on the 24th of January, so it's pretty likely we'll get another one soon. Most promos ending on Friday also adds to the predicition.

There were a GOG New Year Sale in the past 3 years. Jan 20 in 2023, Jan 25 in 2024 and Jan 24 in 2025.

I am very thankful to ciemnogrodzianin and others who kept track of these big sales events and these things in general. If you check the first post on the first page it shows the data. We are getting close to those dates and I am not 100% sure that New Year Sale 2026 will be on the 23rd but there are signs pointing in that direction. All the current sales going on will end on Friday 23rd or around there.

Usually from my observation when there may be a big sale event coming, GOG will not add anymore sale events after the current ones end. I am a bit more positive that the next big sale will be soon after no new sale event being added today.

I am making a forecast that GOG New Year Sale 2026 will be on Jan 23rd.

Since there are no new sale event being added today after 3 current one ended, I am a bit more confident that a Big Sale Event will happen soon.

I wonder if the new ownership will take this opportunity and release/announce quite a few amazing games that are highly anticipated by the users on that day. It will definitely give off a great impression to start off 2026.

To be fair, I'm "only" expecting RE4, as multiple leaks did hint on it releasing at some point. Possibly with the HD Project in the One-Click Mods?
Any additional big releases will be a pleasant surprise if they happen.

That's my thinking too, with this recent tweet: https://x.com/GOGcom/status/2011226876497248586
