Bundles on GOG, for a long time now, have not been of any benefit to consumers. You're required to buy multiple games here for the same discount you would get on them individually from other stores. This wasn't so bad when bundles were less common, but at this point it feels like the majority of GOG's sales are focused on bundles. GOG, please, stop. Your dedicated customers already have to put up with enough from shopping here, including, but not limited to:

- Lack of games due to publishers/developers not wanting to sell them here
- Lack of games due to GOG rejecting them
- Delayed game updates
- Games with missing updates, features, DLC, etc.

The only reason I can think of for someone to buy games here is because GOG won't sell anything with DRM. That's why I shop here, and it's why I support GOG. But it feels pretty bad to be a dedicated GOG customer, to want to support the site, and then get told that to get the same discounts that Steam users get on individual games, I have to buy multiple games together. It just feels like another way that GOG customers are treated as inferior to Steam customers. "Sorry, GOG users aren't worthy of 75% off for individual titles. You'll need to buy our bundle to get a discount like that."

I'm sure this post won't cause GOG to change. As long as the sale numbers work for them, that's all they have reason to care about. And I get that, they're a business, whatever. But I wanted to vent a bit, because I'm tired of having more and more reasons to question my dedication to this store. And I'm really sick of having these bundles shoved in my face like I should be excited to be a second-class customer.

Thanks for reading.

This particular style of bundle is awful, I agree.

Traditional GOG bundles are fine for me.
But I do hate those youtuber "bundles" in this Winter Sale.
They have a lot of duplicated games, with no better discount, and just waste space and time.

They also include games at a worse discount than they're sold at in other bundles. If I repurchase either of the KOTOR games in the Gopher Collection, they're $3.99 each. In the Star Wars bundle, they're $2.49 each. The YouTuber collections are completely useless clutter.
I don't mind the other (eg. pick X games) bundles at all. Since I'm already a gog customer, and own a number of those games already, I get nice discounts. So....don't stop those bundles, gog?

Actually, can you put Dreamfall: The Longest Journey in a bundle, please? I want a better discount for it.
Oh, and a reasonably discounted Elder Scrolls Bundle would be nice too!

Well, I find the "Youtuber" bundles lame too. But what I find more iritating is, that some of those "BYOB" bundles. Take the Devolver Hits 3 for example. You have to pick 10 games to get a bigger discount, but a half of the picks are the same games (normal version, deluxe and upgrade). So basically you have to buy everything which contradicts the BYOB idea.
The worst for me continues to be the forgotten realms bundle. I'd gladly purchase the archive collections at 50% but it will only give me that percentage if I buy the entire bundle which I don't want (or need).
I was thinking pretty much the same thing. This sale seems particularly "bundle heavy" and the bundles seem particularly useles. My personal "favourite" is the "Build Your Own Devolver Bundle" being split into two separate bundles, effecitvely making it impossible to actually build the bundle of Deveolver's games you really want. And the pointless "youtuber" bundles. Seriously, what the hell was even the idea here?

If nothing else (questionable discount and bundling practices aside), the sheer volume of bundles in combination with the other games on sale makes it a chore to figure out what's on sale and how to get the best discount. It shouldn't be so difficult to buy a few games. Now that GOG has a sizeable catalog, they'd be wise to reexamine how present it in future sales.

What's especially bad about the BYOB bundles in cases like that is:

1. They include barely-discounted games, further limiting selection.

2. If you already own the Deluxe version of a game where the normal version, Deluxe version, and upgrade are in the bundle, that can count for three picks, but if you're buying it for the first time it only counts as one.

Luckily, it looks like in some cases the normal version + upgrade is the same price as the deluxe version, which means that you can buy some deluxe versions as two separate items to help with that issue.

There are actually three Devolver bundles...

Right you are. Yeah, that's about as wrong as you can get the "build your own bundle" idea.

Keep the build your own bundles please. I see no evidence that the lower rates for the byo bundles are available on other sites individually, at least as a regular reality. Sure, this might happen in some instances but that's the reality of sales between different outlets -- you're not going to get the same deal everywhere all the time. Or perhaps you can provide some convincing numbers?

As for the games that are in the more general curated youtube bundles, while at the same time being priced lower in the BYO bundles-- that is definitely a problem in my opinion. It could be easily solved by some type of alert on the game in question, making the potential buyer aware of the other option.

I have no use for the youtube lists because I don't know or care about the curators. However, perhaps they (being the youtubers) have enough fans that put enough stock in their opinions that they value the lists. I don't know, so I'm not going to demand they disappear. I won't be sad if they do though.

I think it's kind of funny that the bundles are "Devolver Hits" but together they include GOG's entire Devolver catalog.
