ZFR: Seriously, what are you guys talking about? What is this "good idea" of mine that trent is opposed to?
Trent (as far as I can tell from reading his post) suspecting and voting for you in Post 48 for wanting a(any) nolynch.

I believe you a bit more as you seem to be good with the math aspect of the game and have played many games...Trent seems to be opposed and suspecting of you.

(Of course that could be due to his own play style and how he views NL in general)

avatar
ZFR: Did I post anywhere (pre #48) that I want a D1 NL? Are you perhaps confusing it with Koro's #37?
Recently (Post 68) you seem to have changed your tone on when a NL matters most.

Btw I don't feel you were pushing for a D1 NL, fwiw....although that post(68) seems a bit "off" if I may be honest.
(Although it's still mostly NAI as I know even math whizzes like yourself can make mistakes)

GymHenson: Also a note to all players-observers-etc: The first prize choices for the first round of the contest are now listed here

Anyone who hasn't done so who wants to opt out of the contest can do so by replying to me in that thread....also anyone who opted out who wants to opt back in(given a prize they like or etc is on offer) can do so at any time before the draw(some time during N1, before end of N1).

(all future prizes will be listed in the same thread as well btw)
Can we keep the contest talk in the sign up thread please? I know you're just letting people know, but anyone who is in the contest should have the sign up thread bookmarked anyway and you can always ping people in there.

Not a problem :)

(I just wanted to make one major post to let people know about it....was gonna stop talking about it afterwards anyways...sorry for that again, btw)

Now back to the game.....let's see: Stuff about NL, and town and scum, and etc. :D

You didn't answer my question. What is this "good idea of mine" that I had and trent was opposing?

ZFR: You didn't answer my question. What is this "good idea of mine" that I had and trent was opposing?
The nolynch of course.

From his post 48: "....but after going over the thread I haven't seen much except for ZFR trying to rationalize a no lynch on Day 1 for some reason. No matter what the math tells you as far as numbers go it can't tell you what you get from reactions and behavior from a lynch or a push for a lynch, so to me a no lynch is a very bad idea and an anti-town play."

As I said, it could just be their opposition to such things (nolynches) in general...which is why it's mostly NAI for me atm.

OK, so can you tell me where did I have an idea of a D1 no lynch? Because I never said that. The first time I mentioned it being "good" was post #68.

I know you didn't say that and I wasn't trying to infer that you said that. If it seemed like I did then sorry for that, as that wasn't my intent.

(Before I read post 68 I read lift's posts before that, and was about to reply to him "ZFR likely isn't pushing for an early NL" or some sort of similar reply, but then I read post 68 and saw you'd changed your stance so I didn't post that reply to Lift)

You literally said "ZFR seems to have a good idea". Now you're saying that you didn't meant to infer that I had the idea...

OK...

I won't push this further,

You might be mistaking what I meant(or perhaps I said it wrong in my initial posts?).

Your good idea was for us doing a NL in general, and I am somewhat in agreement with that.

What I meant by "not meaning to infer" earlier is that I wasn't trying to infer(if I somehow did so earlier) that you were pushing for a D1 NL specifically.

"ZFR seems to have a good idea" can only mean "ZFR seems to have a good idea"

OK, but the next part of that sentence was about trent opposing. Trent was opposing D1 NL in particular.

Anyway, sorry if it seems like I was nitpicking. I just wanted to know exactly what you meant. I think it's clear now.

Yeah, I must've partially misread Trent's post and thought he was opposed to NL in general. My bad.

No problem....btw I like when you nitpick....as often it helps us find scum. :)

(Although I will admit the math you post sometimes makes my brain hurt a bit o.0)

Well then...moving on....will perhaps reply more the the game if others post more later on.
(Going off to play other games until some more posts pop up)
I'm calling it now, expect me to be wrong at end-game lol. Forgot what you guys call this "early prediction of who's scum" thing.

Town: ZFR

Scum: Lifthrasil, trentonlf, Microfish

(sidenote: I'm serious about townreading ZFR, I don't see him bringing up the prospect of a no-lynch as Mafia in the way that he did it. The suggestion is iffy, but I think it's why a Mafioso ZFR wouldn't open the game with all eyes on him using it.)

Offtopic, and out of curiousity: Why not just the word bragging?

As for me...my leans so far.
(such as they are)

Town
Starting to lean town:

Myself(for obvious reasons)

ZFR(for all the math and pushing NL early on...don't think scum!ZFR would do that)

Korotan(I don't think a scum would jump on a NL bandwagon in the first spot like that)

Leaning scum or NAI atm:

Near everyone else.....but I especially suspect the lurkers.
(have done so in general, and more and more, since the one game where so many lurkers were scum)
