You make a good point....would a possible scum!Trent try a gambit of claiming one of the roles from said signup thread, and bank on it not being in the game(and thus a safe false claim for him)?

I don't think he likely would...but then anything is possible and it could be a bold move by Trent indeed....still, it gives me more to think about.

Damn! Now I'm conflicted. I don't like the idea of ending day 1 without a lynch, but im not enough of a gambler to call trent out on bluffing.

Unless you left out some fine print for your night action, couldn't you be used as a pawn for the scum? What's stopping you from accidentally assisting them and giving them a second night-kill?

It would certainly be high risk/reward. There's the risk of being counterclaimed, but if he was lucky and picked a role that turned out not to have been included then there'd be a tendency for people to believe him. Of course it's also a role that should be verifiable down the road as people should be able to confirm getting a second action.

As pointed out by someone else, Trent would have to be bold to pick from the roles in the signup and bank on no one else having that role....so he's more likely town than scum.
(Though of course i'm not ruling him out 100%)

I pointed this out in post 484.....I and him seem to have roles that help town and scum...dunno about others, though.

However, it does make me somewhat uneasy that blotunga(my other top scum right now) voted GH in response to trent being voted for. ZFR also makes a point that blotunga seems real sure of trent being a scum target when again, i feel that trents role claim would be a reason for scum to keep him around for a while unless they are sure that he has the drop on them.

It's very possible I could accidentally help scum, I would have to hope I chose correctly as to who is Town.

@Bucktooth-Post 515: Noted, and I will be keeping an eye on such in the future(well as long as I remember to, what with the brain rot called my memory and all).

This (and his subsequent posts) seems like stronger reaction than warranted but others can correct me in case my baseline is wrong.

I dunno how far the deadline is and if it finishes before my day starts tomorrow but here's what I think. I will wait for any of them below to dispute trent

Yeah I agree with your assessment of this situation, those concerns stated there seem not as pressing.

Deadline is Sunday(need to ask OP for specific time, though)....so you might want to get some rest in the meantime.

I also went ahead and PMd OP so he knows I asked him about deadline....hopefully he'll fill us in soonish(when he sees the PM).

I hope as much people as possible drop by and see the claim (ideally everyone) and react to it. As someone else mentioned that claim seems like quite a gamble - it's one of the special roles so Trent doesn't have any wiggle room if someone counter-claims him. Building another wagon before this one is processed. We have one potential role already exposed.
