ZFR: It's like the unwritten rule where if one player is injured, a team will purposely kick the ball out of bounds to stop play, and the other team would return it to them afterwards. Not against the rules to keep possession instead of returning the ball, but very unsportsmanlike.
Vitek: I don't wan to ruin yolur analogy but I think in recent years teams are being instructed to keep playing unless referee stops the game and to not kick the ball out of the bounds if opposing player is on the ground supposedly injured. :-) The late 90s-2000s generation retired and the new one thought it a good idea to abuse this by falling on the ground to halt play. Shame.
