flubbucket: I was obviously wrong, but what level of audacity would I have to have as scum to put myself out there like that??
I dunno. What level of audacity is required to claim compulsive vig with investigative elements?

(Translation: I'm not buying any sort of defense from you along the lines of "I wouldn't be audacious enough!")

avatar
Bookwyrm627: Gogtrials point about Gamerager not interracting with SPF made me believe Gamerager was less likely to flip Mafia, while I hoped he would.
avatar
dedoporno: This keeps getting brought up. Maybe I'm just stupid but this point makes zero sense to me and it's one of the few if not the only one thoughts of gogtrial that I find nonsensical.
For the record, I didn't say this. That was Scene, in post 801.

avatar
supplementscene: 2. I won't give that list just yet but nearer deadline for several reasons.
avatar
dedoporno: On the same note, @Wyrm, what is your stance on this particular point? (pre-post edit: I see you voted Scene, is that related in some way?)
I hate it, especially when we're already running short on blahblahblah time.

Just one more thing.

avatar
PookaMustard: You have to explain this. I MUST hear it.
avatar
dedoporno: After the game ends I can tell you what I remember about it or if you feel like it you can read the actual game. I'm not sure which one it was, though. Maybe someone else can help with that.
It was the Ordinariest Ordinary game. The events that Dedo and I keep referencing occurred on Day 3.

I'd love to hear your memory on it, though, Dedo.
avatar
gogtrial34987: * bookwyrm: I'll keep suspecting him in the back of my mind until the very end, but I'll trust that there's too many experienced players reading him as town for them all to be his buddies.
There's dedo and me. Who else? My read is based on bookwyrm's End Of Day2 and dedo saying that he thinks Bookwyrm's town.

avatar
gogtrial34987: ....
* gogtrial: That's me. Once again universally town-read, and not even Joe is questioning it.
....
Is it just sentiment? If you're allowing me to town-read you because of our intense history then tell me now. Don't let me look foolish!

avatar
Microfish_1: Why do you trust Scene so much? As I illustrated earlier, his logic is leading him to erroneous conclusions. The logic train just doesn't make it. Or, he's scum and desperately trying to get a townie executed. I can see zero other alternatives.

Why base you trust of blot off of "I just do?" Are you masons together? (If you are scum, please trip up and blurt it out. That would be extremely helpful, kind, and the jolly-good right thing to do. Thanks.)

FWIW, when I don't have solid suspicions, I try to just nose around calmly and inoffensively, gathering data from the on-deck circle. I only step up to the plate when I have what I feel are solid evidences or suspicions.
Scene's logic leading him to erroneous conclusions is character trait he displays in the admin-thread and sign-up threads too. His logic isn't necessarily correct, but the conclusions that he drew came from a town-mindset. Remind me and when I have more time I'll check back and find what I'm referring to. I think it was around the beginning of Day 2.

I guess you mean Dedo, rather than blot? I don't know why I trust dedo for no reason, and I'm certainly open to that trust getting challenged. But yeah. I think he'd be reacting to me differently if he were mafia.

You read a bit more like familiar Microfish here. Are you trying harder? Am I paying more attention?

avatar
JoeSapphire: Ugh. Overall I think I want to unvote microfish.
avatar
Microfish_1: 4b) You should, if you haven't already as I write this.
Damn if that don't make me want to unvote microfish.

But then who DO I vote? Trent or flub?

@Flub - should I vote Trent?

Also I just got microfish's joke about gogtrial asking for a sub for RL and not for the mafia game. Very good.

avatar
dedoporno: Right. If you said so I wouldn't have said anything probably. You just keep weirding me out with the reasons you give people credit (or take it away). You have a pretty mouth, though, so I'll let you with a warning this time.
Usually I hate when people express "You've convinced me, if you are mafia I'd be happy to lose to this exceptional skill". but I'd happily play a game where I try to work out whether Dedo is a murderer and he compliments me relentlessly before stabbing me in the face.

Please understand, I'm not trying to defend myself. I'm trying to evoke critical thinking.

@Flub - should I vote Trent?

............
I don't know.

I can't decide if he's the lone frustrated scum or myopic town.
avatar
supplementscene: 2. Joe - SPFs voted for majority of Day 1 strikes me as distancing but. Predicted SPF, Carr and Microfish were Scumteam. Carr isn't Mafia he's SK but SPF is. He didn't answer when I asked him about his prediction. He didn't answer when I asked.

I support a Joe lynch
Sorry for ignoring you. Gogtrial asked the same question a while ago. My response - I predicted at least two of the scums and I'm great.

Okay now

@Trent - you say something to make me think that you're town.
avatar
JoeSapphire: @Trent - you say something to make me think that you're town.
Why? If you think I’m scum then vote me, if you don’t then move on as we are short on time and needless banter is pointless.

trentonlf: Why? If you think I’m scum then vote me, if you don’t then move on as we are short on time and needless banter is pointless.
Kind of reminds me of your response here in the Secret Hitler game we played:

avatar
Microfish_1: At this stage electing Hitler is much more dangerous than passing another F. Liberal wins happen either by passing policies or assassinating Hitler, but fascist wins happen usually due to Hitler election, rarely due to policy passing.

Remember fascist policies give us veto power. If by that time we have ousted fascists, we've practically won.

So at this stage, I'm more worried about electing Hitler. Can you convince me you're not Hitler? You've passed a liberal policy, at the beginning which is consistent with what Hitler would've done.
As I said, I wouldn't trust myself not to be Hitler at this stage (if I had not known my alignment). 2 liberal policies still can mean Hitler.

I am open to other ideas though.

Those are not our only picks. I'm open to ideas if you have better suggestions.

Actually, blotunga is another pick I might consider.
I don't see him being likely Hitler. Not the way it was played.

So please give your vots on Lift, scene, blotunga. Plus any other ideas.
avatar
JoeSapphire: I’m not Hitler. Does that convince you? Of course not, and there’s nothing I can do or say other than that at this point. I’ve only been in office once, but as you said it was early on and a L policy was going to probably be passed If it was possible at that point no matter who was in office. So you’ll have to make a judgement call.

I’ll put it this way, if it’s going to be worse for us to pass on another government then I’ll probably say yes to whoever you nominate as chancellor, but the only person I trust as chancellor is me. Anyone else as chancellor is a crap shoot in my eyes.
I have to see reading that game and this one Joe was putting in infinite more game analysis
For those that didn't play that game, Trent played Fascist (Mafia equivilent) and JoeSapphire played Liberal (Town equivilent)
avatar
PookaMustard: snip
I meant DEDO. if you read the thing I quoted, Joe said Dedo, and I misquoted "blot."

I am aware that Blot was mislynched D1. I do not knowwhy I seem to confuse "Dedo" with "Blot", but I do. My apologies to both Dedo & Blot.

supplementscene: For those that didn't play that game, Trent played Fascist (Mafia equivilent) and JoeSapphire played Liberal (Town equivilent)
Your quote attributes Microfish instead of Trent -_-'

The only thing I can think is initially it didn't post with the quote/post numbers because they were higher than the posts on this thread so I changed the quote numbers to be lower and it then posted. It must have changed the poster name as a result

Takeaway: Trent was the poster and not Microfish - Micro didn't play that game.

1) Huh. Reminder, in case you have more time.
2) Yes, thanks.
3) Less IRL duties, more time, I felt I finally had something so I went with it, as opposed to merely gathering evidence.

@Pooka, I hadn't realized I stood a chance at being in your gov in SH; maybe I could have, I'll take your word for it. And yes, playstyles evolve. I was lunched in my first game for being "too analytical". If being less analytical in my posts lets me survive longer, and have fewer headaches IRL, it's win-win and I'm all for it. My scum game maybe lost us the game, but I disagree with scene's playstyle somewhat--based off of Zeo's successful "Castle In the Sky" play.

He raises a good point about Trent, I think.

Am willing to lunch
Scene
Flub
Trent

Unsure, leans town:
Dedo
Joe
Book

Not willing to lunch yet:
Pooka
Gogtrial
Micro

If you are genuinely Town I'm not sure this is positive. Town players need to solve the game together. You weren't 'lunched' you were Night Killed because you were a town asset.

If you are Town do you see why some Town players may find your differing Town play suspicious?
you are correct, it was a NK. I misspoke, sorry.
I see it as "I might survive longer and do a bit more good than if I burn brightler and burn out/am snuffed out"

I do, but I've also publicly said in 2-3 places that I won't be playing that intensely again.
Another rough day.

Yeah, it was indeed Scene's quote even though that wasn't the point. Anyway, I probably botched some quote formatting while cleaning up my post. Sorry about that.

It's time to act but I'm a bit unsure what to do. I'm considering joining Scene's wagon. I have to admit that among all other things one part of me just wants to be remove the question mark and finally know the answer. The will hopefully end or at least it will become a bit simpler.

I believe my vote on Scene would put him on L-1. Considering we have his claim already is there something else that anyone (including Scene) would like to consider and bring up? L-1 can turn into a lynch very abruptly, voluntarily or not (trust me, I know) so if anyone has something to say I'll hold a bit longer (probably until tomorrow morning).
Just seeing dedo's post. I have a vote for scene to L-1 all written up. Want to finish a roundup post before posting it. Here's head's up so we don't get an accidental hammer.
