Interesting find, another thing to watch out for. Buying games here has become as if you're stepping in a minefield and GOG does not help much being silent at every turn.

Step 1. GOG adds game with description given by the developer.
Step 2. People bring attention to GOG that the advertised features are not there
Step 3. GOG removes the advertised features in the description as they are not going to be there.
Step 4. People who feel cheat can ask for a refund and gog most likely will refund

Where's the problem? Should GOG write a big blue topic for every mistake they make? No, they don't need the negative rep and prefer to solve the issues internally with the customers who feel are cheated on. As it stands today there's nothing wrong with the game's description.

Anyhow, did the OP contact customer service and ask if a refund is appicable? If not, you can't say that GOG did nothing for it's customers.

As mentioned before, they could be proactive with these matters. They don't need to make a blue thread about it but could directly contact affected buyers via PM or email. Simple step to garner goodwill among those affected. Better to have that sort of response and maybe a thread or two saying gOg fixed a problem right versus this, sort of thread where the customer brings up a valid point of dissatisfaction. Why let the discussion hang in the air when that discussion need not happen in the first place?
Well I will say I agree with you wholeheartedly on that point. :)
I guess they don't have the time. Or were afraid of people asking for a refund if they contacted all people who bought it.

Lifthrasil: Ah, so it's up to 80% for Germans and up to 90% for all others. Since they neither show nor sell Bloodrayne 2 in Germany.

timppu: But... you are from "Other", so you should be ok, right?
No. I'm in Germany at the moment and since GOG uses IP tracking I'm screwed unless I use some VPN.

Except that GOG should know what features the version they're going to sell are included and which aren't, and by extension if the description given by the devs/pubs is accurate or not, hence people shouldn't need to bring such things to the attention of GOG.

You are mistaken on step 1, 3 and 4.

1. GOG does not have the luxury of falling back and blaming its suppliers for a problem its customers experience with a product GOG sell.
3. GOG should be making public announcements that they fucked up.
4. GOG should be proactively contacting customers re 1.

In short, quality control.

RotFLOL!!!!!!!!!!

Please, please don't make me lough so hard!!!!!

Is there any company out there which really still does QC?

Best example games, I DO still remember times when you bought a finished product and you MIGHT had to download a patch, a patch which quite often included also some more maps/level editor or similar.

But nowadays you are nothing else than a paying alpha/beta tester anymore. And it sometimes takes years before a game is really in a working condition!

Nowadays getting a working game from day one seems to be the exception!

+ 1 to you for seeing the real problem. QC is still adhered to by companies that care.

GOG wishes to reproduce a concept that is market norm in the software industry these days, i.e. that the consumer will actually pay hard cash for something that does not exist or is marketed in a manner that cannot be achieved but somehow the general software industry feels that it can be removed from normal customer statutory rights. It is a remarkable acceptance by the gaming consumer and gamers are responsible for it- that is the saddest part.
Who knows, maybe an intern just started there and made a mistake. Poor intern.
