yeah some will say i am overreacting but im not only here on the boards but on various game/steam boards and many told me to get e.g. PILLARS OF ETERNITY for steam, why? cause GOG sucks at delivering patches etc. in time!

and yes, i have this game now and have to wait for the new patch?!?!?? WTF?!?!? yeah it's drm-free, nice, but NEW GAMES ARE HERE TO BE PLAYED and not watched or waited..... UNACCEPTABLE!

Divinity, Wasteland 2 and now Pillars of Eternity...............

your service needs to be improved ASAP! and you already seem to loose customers cause of this issue as many i read preferred the steam version asap... with a better service you would have maybe more customers and now im an angry customer too and wont buy a new game from you again!
You have to understand that GOG didn't start their business with new patches in mind and it only took them 20 hours I think someone mentioned in the POE sub-forum as opposed to how they managed with Divinity or Wasteland 2. It will only get better with Galaxy, hopefully, but that will probably take time.

Why not just purchase new games with steam if you don't mind using steam? The main reason to get games here is DRM-free, if that means less than quick updates then the choice is clear and if you want both you'll have to wait until Galaxy is out.

What's unacceptable - and I sure as hell hope people are getting more up in arms about it than the topic of the OP - is that games are released full retail in a state that requires patching. That gOg (not the developer or publisher, by the way) might not have a patch ready the moment you want it is not necessarily their fault.

Put the blame where it belongs - faulty products. Patches are required because the developer screwed something up. gOg is not the developer, gOg do not decide who gets the patch first. Go hound Obsidian and Paradox because that's where the fault lies.
Also the patches are delivered by the developers... So any delay on the patch is from the devs, not GOG. Complain to them if they take longer to provide better support for the GOG version.
HOW DARE GOG TEST PATCHES PROVIDED BY THE DEVS!
HOW DARE GOG GET PATCHES LATER THAN STEAM GET THEIRS!
HOW DARE THEY!!!!
THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!
*rolls eyes*
Man, these apocalyptic threads again.
The vast majority of computer users don't know the difference between a browser and the internet. If people cared about bugs and patches EA and Ubisoft would fill for bankruptcy every year-.

You could have just said you won't be buying any new games until GOG gets a better patching system.
after what I've seen go down in the hermit cave, I didn't think people 'round here could possibly get any more loose.

scary.

At least they only take a day or less to answer a support question. Steam took 17 days for my last question.

I'll take a slow patch over the feeling no one has my back any day.
Dear GOG,

pick another Random Event card.
This will be interesting.

I am surprised TinyE didn't already post a picture of a dead mamal or something.

Usually, when people are not sure where to get their game between gog and steam, they are answered 'steam for quick patches and achievements, gog for support and drm free'. I can't imagine you weren't aware. And in this case, you can't complain the 1.03 patch for PoEt was really late.

Get this into your head,IT'S NOT GOG'S FAULT.....Attack the Developers for releasing
an unfinished game, then taking their time to deliver patches to Gog.....
Now,got the picture?Good now run back and enjoy Steam's service....
