Is the new Tomb Raider game worth to buy ?
Oh, Lara. Welcome to my humble abode.

DD & Ji Ji: Is the new Tomb Raider game worth to buy ?
Depends on your taste. To me definitly worthy.
As the game's pags says, it's a action surival game. In the earlier stage of the game you need to act really carefullly to survive every single battle. But as the stroy progresses it becomes more like a third person shooting game. Sometimes you will get close to some enemies and that's where the action part comes in. And about the adventure part, somehow it felt I was pushed by the story to pass through one area after another and didn't feel like I was exploring very much. (my bad, you do have to travel and explore a lot to collect hidden info, treasures, parts to upgrad your weapons, etc, and also for the purpose of unlocking achievements, I just recall that) Also if you are a fan of the old Tomb Raider series you probably think there are too few puzzels in this game, and they are way easier compared to thoes in the old ones. But for me, I didn't really care about those shortcomings (if you think they are). When I played the game, wherever Lara went I went, when she was scared I felt the same way, when she was hurt I felt the pain. Seeing she become braver and stronger, and went through all the difficulties in the end, I even shed my tears for her. So you can see how much this game and its protagonist attracted me.

Thanks for the tip! You should post it into the Tomb Raider Series forum:

Otherwise it would be lost in the general forum...

cmclout: I'm glad to have Tomb Raider GOTY here and I'll definitely buy it, but the price is insulting (when compared to Steam).

On Steam, the full price of Tomb Raider GOTY is $19.80 and the sale price is $3.87, and that includes the multiplayer content and functionality (which costs $9.00 full price and $1.90 on sale). On GOG, the full price is $19.99 and the sale price is $3.99, and that includes only the single-player content (no multiplayer content or functionality).

In other words, GOG is selling the game (on sale) for $3.99, and the same content is sold on Steam for $1.97, so GOG customers have to pay a little over twice as much (102% increase). The full price is similar -- $19.99 on GOG versus $10.80 for the same content on Steam (85% increase for GOG customers).

Why are GOG customers expected to pay considerably more for less content?

ysperchy: Your math is way off here and it shows you are oblivious when it comes to pricing something. You can't just deduct the value of an add-on individually from a package that contains the base game and all add-ons. The package is supposed to already have a discount for buying all add-ons. Also, let me remind you that Steam has clauses that avoid pricing games lower on other storefronts.

But what irks me the most is the audacity in which you complain that you're offended when the difference on the price on sale is... TWELVE CENTS.... I'm pretty sure you're aware that GOG's revenue is much, much lower than that of Steam and if you are really a supporter of DRM free games, then twelve cents should be no problem to "let your wallet speak". But I'm guessing these TWELVE CENTS activate your stingy alter-ego's gag reflex.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but my math is accurate, and your comment shows that it is you who is oblivious to pricing something. I didn't "deduct he value of an add-on individually from a package that contains the base game and all add-ons". First, it's a bundle, not a package. Second, I deducted the bundle-discounted value of the individual items. And third, yes, you can do that because it's a complete-the-set bundle, not a must-buy-together bundle. If you doubt my math, then go ahead and do the math yourself. It's not difficult.

Despite your arrogant and inaccurate claim, the difference is not twelve cents. The difference is twelve cents PLUS THE REMOVAL OF A MAJOR COMPONENT OF THE GAME. As I said, I bought this anyway, so I was clearly willing to "let my wallet speak". Regardless of that, it is perfectly acceptable to voice my displeasure that GOG customers are getting charged 102% more than Steam customers for the same content. Believe it or not, some issues really are about the principles.

Thank you for your suggestion! But the thing is I don't own this game here yet so I can't test it with the said mod. And it can be inappropriate to open a new topic without self confirmation imo ... well, I'll post it tomorrow, it shall be a fast way to get some helps for testing :)

Just a second, why is Subverse going to be on GOG? That's just straight up a pron game.

I get if it's a game with sex, but a straight-up porn that has explicit images on its store page doesn't really feel like a Good Old Game or a new indie/AAA title befitting GOG.

Green_Hilltop: Just a second, why is Subverse going to be on GOG? [...]
I can't speak for why GOG is accepting it, but personally I am thrilled that GOG is accepting it because I only buy DRM-free and think we need more so-called "controversial" games in order to help dismantle ridiculous societal taboos in general.

"Don't tell me I can't have steak just because a baby can't chew it" (paraphrased, attributed to Mark Twain iirc).
I'm not interested in erotic titles per se - I could play one if it has other interesting aspects and possibly I can have sexy stuff skipped - more than offensive I find it boring and always fast forward sex scenes in movies and series. But the more options the better.
Are some of these sales timed? I noticed the discount on ADOM has been changed and it's more expensive now.

Who made you the moral arbiter of GOG? What makes your opinion of what makes a game worthy to be here more valuable than anyone else's opinion? Why should every GOG customer be bound by your personal opinions and likes/dislikes? Why it is that you consider sex to be "immoral", "bad", or whatever other term you want to use to explain why you think this game should be banned from GOG?

People like sex and sex sells, and your personal opinions won't change those facts. If there is a niche that GOG is not serving, but other platforms are serving, then GOG is missing out on potential revenue. Considering the fact that this game's Kickstarter campaign was backed by 58,730 people for a total of £1,668,626, I'd say it's perfect reasonable for GOG to want a part of the revenue which will be generated by serving this niche.

As for this specific game, I looked at the game page on Steam, and despite your claim, it certainly doesn't appear to be "just straight up a pron game". It certainly does appear to be sex-heavy, but that's not the same.

Agreed, disappointing that Gog publishes such filth.
