You have just played a game and you have liked its story and/or universe. You definitely want some more out of it. Luckily for you, the game in question was actually based on a book, so here's your chance to delve into your favourite world once more. The following GOG games are all based on books.

Note: The mix/list will only cover games that are directly (more or less) based on literature books. It will not cover novelizations, comic books, or tabletop rulebooks.

Not sure if Return to Krondor counts...
The game itself is based on a series of books (the Riftwar by Raymond E. Feist) and there is a book called Return to Krondor, but the book is actually based on the game, not the other way around.

So it's a book based on a game which is based on a series of books. Or bookception.

Hmmmm... this looks to me more like an influence rather than a direct adaptation. Not sure if I will add it..

Ah, missed it because I was looking for Return and forgot entirely about Betrayal.. XD
Thanks for keeping this GOGmix and thread alive! You may want to fix the Journey to the Center of the Earth link, though. :S

PS: I had no idea one of the Mount & Blade words was based on actual books. :P

Whoops. Seems like copy-paste can result in strange shenanigans. Thanks for the notice.

Well, that's true, but the same could be argued for many of those from the list.

Allright, it is indeed in a different category, but the influence was confirmed by the producer Jade Raymond.

Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth is based on the book with the same title.
Are there any new books to add to this list?
