2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

yongra: I cannot connect. I just got updated to 1.2.6 and it keeps on saying cannot connect to GOG Service and GOG Galaxy shutdown.
You talking about the "Connection to GOG Galaxy Communication Service was lost and could not be restored! GOG Galaxy will now shutdown" issue? This seems to be a pretty widespread issue unfortunately... and GOG is... silent? Would be nice to know if this is being worked on or not.

BKGaming: Yea that has been removed (we don't know why).. you can also close Galaxy though by going to the GOG COM logo, and pressing exit.
Thank You BKGaming.

And Thank You to thomq for your response.

hi there guys..

- is there a way to check and edit/delete what is saved on cloud? Maybe it's only a problem of mine but it seems to me that GOG saves to cloud the entire directory where are stored saved files, every time it saves all the files, so it can last a lot of time (my ADSL is only 7 MB); often while GOG uploads to cloud I find hard to browse the web ot use any other internet service..
Also if I delete saving point from my folder (old ones I do not need anymore) the next time I launch the game GOG downloads it again! I tested this with The Witcher game: at the moment my saved folder is 316 MB big and I can't see how to shrink it! :(

- this happens with The Witcher too, maybe you can confirm with other game so to report to mantis: when opening the overlay mode and the closing I have no pointer in game, so that it near impossible to click something. The only way to have the pointer back is opening again the overlay and closing again but this time keeping the SHIFT key pressed; then when clicking something it come back (at least for me).

Without going into too many details, every save that your game stores in the local folder is also in the GOG Galaxy Cloud - that's regarding the checking part. As for editing / deleting saves: if you launch the game and edit or remove saves from within the game then they should be removed from the cloud once you exit the game (keep in mind that for this to work, saves must be deleted when the game is running)

Thank you! I've been wondering how that works, too. So, manage saving and deleting within the game itself, not outside the game. Got it. I suppose that should have been obvious, but it was all too magical for me to be sure of what I'm doing right or not.

DDT2005: I have one computer that has no trouble at all and another that does, and exhibits this exact same behavior. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled Galaxy to no avail. BTW, only one computer connected at a time to gog.com.

dim.146: Yes, exactly the same here. Before the most recent update, I almost never had a problem with Galaxy, now it cannot stay up for more than ~10 seconds. The GalaxyCommunicationService is apparently pretty buggy.

Hi,

sorry if you are experiencing this issue. We suspect this is a problem of running Galaxy over Remote Desktop, which we do not currently support. If you think this is not your case, please open an issue at http://mantis.gog.com, attaching your logs and any information about your machine that you might find relevant (for example using other remoting software, using Active Directory, or having any non-basic setup in terms of user accounts).

Regards,

Liosan
I love galaxy since the last time I used it. The in-game overlay is so clean. Please never get rid of the gog color schemes, it is so pretty compared to Origin/Steam/UPlay/etc.
Here's another very small "ease of use" feature I'd like to see. Right now, after recent changes to Youtube, none of the videos in the Galaxy store can be set to full screen mode. This appears to be a flag Youtube now wants to be added to the embed code for their videos, "allowfullscreen", which may be what's missing from the store page's embed code. Right now, if I want to see the videos I've got to open a Youtube page. That works, but this quick fix would be a bit more convenient for us shoppers.

Liosan: snip
What about the other people with this issue? I don't know seems a bit unlikely this is totally related to using remote desktop (unless your talking specifically about that user)... I've seen like 5 - 10 people suggest this issue is happening to them. I mean you got four people here claiming it's happening, some on Windows and other on a MAC . Also a report and another in a [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_galaxy_126_crashes_when_i_log_in]thead and a few people in this very thread and some I'm probably missing. Just pointing out it seems to be kind of more widespread on 1.2.6 then your average issue with Galaxy.

Overlay not working for me in "Oxenfree" even though it should according to the game page.
Little Nightmares: Not possible to "view store page" for the game from within game (does not find the game).

Also said it: but if you install a game using backup installer and then start Galaxy it is not recognized by Galaxy that the game is outdated regarding the Galaxy part of it - therefore no blue dot appears. You'll have to chose the latest version manually to get those files.
I just upgraded to Galaxy 1.2.6. Count me among those receiving the connection is lost error on Windows 10. Gonna uninstall and try a clean installation instead of installing over previous version. /shrug

EDIT: That seems to have done the trick.

You talking about the store page? Some of the games GOG has listed don't actually work right now. You can tell this because there is no checkbox under game settings. Not sure if they are planning to update them and just included them because the overlay will work soon or what...

Yes, I noticed this as well - the checkbox is missing there too.
Here is the usual GOG problem: if they would simply give feedback ("We know about this and we are on it fixing it - will take a while though") we wouldn't have to play this stupid guessing game. I really love GOG but feedback is a thing they never managed to do right (with the exception of Judas, Johny and some other tech guys). They open a thread let people post and they post in it maybe once or twice in a couple of hundred pages.

Just got showed an update for "Oxenfree" in Galaxy. Fun thing about it: this update is three months old and now it has to download 1.8GB even though I have used the newest backup installer from GOG.

Edit: game has updated and game overlay works again - now I whonder when they will update the backup installer as well so I don't have to redownload 1.8 GB whenever I install the game.

This is GOG (and I'm not talking about any single employee, just GOG collectively) in a nutshell and it drives me so damn crazy... for example you got multiple people claiming something is keeping them from being able to use Galaxy and from GOG we get crickets (on the suppose to be stable version no less). I don't know what is so dang hard about communicating better with the people you expecting to use your service and send money to you. If you really want Galaxy to be the front and center experience on GOG then this isn't how you handle it.

I also hate when they leave stuff broken and let it sit all weekend long, such as when the account button gets broken on a Friday afternoon. That's just unprofessional, call someone in for a few hours and get it fixed. I'm pretty sure if the same happen to Valve on Steam or the website they would have.

I mean I know we can be a pain in the ass (me included) but communication goes a long away and GOG acts like it's a sin to talk to their fans/customers... I just don't get it. And when they do reply it's usually to people that didn't even ask a question directly of GOG, but if you ask a question directly you probably won't get a reply.

Apparently this isn't just an issue they have with us as how many devs have claimed now GOG is hard to communicate with (lost emails never gotten?). Either GOG wants to play on the same level as Valve, EA, Ubisoft and MS or they don't, but something needs to change if they do.

---

Anyway it seems for me Galaxy is no longer keeping track of time played on 1.2.6... so far, for me, this version has been a lot more buggy than any other version in the 1.2.x branch. I am so disappointed that they rushed this out as a release version... this was not ready and I don't know who thought it was. We were complaining about lack of 1.2 and updates, nobody was hammering them to get this thing released before it was ready. :(
