2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

God you don't know how much I want this to take priority (with bug fixes and some necessary 1.2.x improvements of course). But yea if this was done I would actually keep Galaxy full size. Right now there is just to much empty space not being used that I just don't even bother. I scale it down and keep it compact so it looks better. I really like attaching the friends list to right side of Galaxy, the less buttons clicks to do things in Galaxy the better.

I also think combining the search bar above the friends list and the invite friend pop up should be done. Why are we having to click another pop up (that makes three widows [Galaxy, Friends List, Add Friends]) when we can combine this and kill two task (possibly three) with one stone.

Why not make it so that when you search for a friend in the friends list, it will also shows an invite button if that person is not currently a friend all using the same search bar... why do we need the two separated by different pop-ups which can essentially be combined to do the same thing.

EDIT: They only thing I would change is make sure the the scroll pane for the main Galaxy page is in the middle with that content, not off to the far right. Similar to how MS handles this with the Xbox App on Windows 10, the left side should have a scroll pane for installed games (that shows when needed, middle should have scroll pane (that shows when needed), and the right should have a scroll pane for the friends list (that shows when needed).

I added a quick arrow to show what I am talking about...

I really wish the user interface was easily customizeable with a modular framework in a standardized manner, some kind of official modding setup or skinnability. I mean the CSS, JS, html files are all there and thus customizeable, but not in an official way of any kind that you can make changes to and have them survive the next update. Ultimately having options to customize the UI built right into the client would be the most user friendly, but allowing some amount of user customization via skinning etc. would be nice also. I've customized Steam in that fashion by changing font sizes and user interface element specifics via Steam's skinning capabilities for example.

It makes total sense to me for GOG to provide a single unified default user interface experience, but it makes equal sense to me to allow others to customize it to a certain degree also. I'm still trying to find the best way to be able to hack up the Galaxy client's UI that will both survive upgrades nicely, and be able to be disabled easily when problems occur in order to rule out customizations as a cause for any problems.

Hopefully they will include some small enhancements like I suggested for the friend list and scalable or configurable sidebar width in the future, among other nice ease of use features.

Yeah, when I made the mockup I didn't think about the scrollbar location there. It would have been a bit trickier to relocate the scrollbar but you're correct, the content area scroller should be to the left of the friend list in my mockup.

Thanks for 1.2 @ GOG! Love my new overlay and the new sound when an achievement pops. You've outdone Steam in this regard :-)
I like the overlay and the addition of notifications, but I would like to specifically disable notifications for achievements. While I don't mind achievements themselves, the notices tend to take me out of the moment when I'm playing a game. Thank you for listening, and keep up the good work. I like what I'm seeing!
Why don't you make it OpenSource? Because of multiplayer DRM?
Honest answer please.

Somebody needs to clean up mantis some, close out some of really old bug reports that likely aren't in 1.2.x. It would be nice if someone could stay on top of these reports and it would also be nice if we could close our own reports.
The close 'X' on the top right of the window no longer closes the application, it just minimises it to the system tray instead.

The previous version had an option (which I selected) to close the application instead leaving it running in the system tray. Will you be bringing this option back? It is annoying to have to take multiple steps to close the application.

AlbertCole: Is anyone else experiencing issues with the install process after the update? It always fails during the DirectX setup. I tested three games so far: Fallout Tactics Classic, Jade Empire and Mount & Blade (running Galaxy as admin).

Edit: A warning pops up saying "invalid command line option".

JudasIscariot: I am not sure but perhaps running Galaxy as admin may have something to do with it? Can you try to reproduce the problem without running Galaxy as admin, please?

Just trying to eliminate variables with my suggestion :)
I tested some other games while running Galaxy without admin rights: Unfortunately the install process still fails during the DirectX setup (with the same warning). When Galaxy reattempts the install process, the issue repeats itself, but this time around the game gets installed.

Games without DirectX setup are installed correctly during the first attempt btw.
Anyone else having issues with Galaxy not wanting to load? On the website everything loads fine but in Galaxy 1.2.6
I'm getting very slow loading to the point where images won't even load. I checked my internet speed and it's decent enough.

EDIT: Yep if I load www.gog.com it loads fast and error free... but if I try to load https://embed.gog.com/ in the browser, nothing but issues. It did finally load after multiple refreshes. Still missing images on game pages in Galaxy.

EDIT2: Galaxy is pretty much unusable right now for me... store is a blank grey page that won't load. Images in the sidebar for installed games won't load. Headline images for news on the game pages won't load.

Is there a way on Galaxy to sort my games by the hours of game time spent? I can see how much time I spent on a particular game, but couldn't find a page to see all games listed (similar to activity section of Steam)

I had the same issues with images not loading on the game library pages, but left it sit there and a minute later I came back and they had finally loaded. I also get blank grey pages on occasion and if I grab the title bar of the maximized window and yank on it and it detaches to a normal window, then throw it back up at the top of the screen and it re-maximizes, then Galaxy forces a redraw and everything looks fine. It's done that on and off since it originally launched, but I've noticed it more often lately.

I believe this is due to their optimizations to make Galaxy use less resources when idle. I believe it detects idle and disables rendering etc. to reduce CPU load and whatnot, but then doesn't always detect activity to kick back into gear and refresh the screen again, so you have to force it, but since GOG has not found the wisdom to include a refresh button on F5 or CTRL-R like standard browsers, the only way to do so it would seem is to resize the window and back to force it. Happens a lot for me. The library sidebar icons for games randomly disappear and don't come back still too until you muck around with them a bit.
After the instalation I can't run galaxy.
Seems like I need to download an api. I'm using Windows 8. Perhaps updating to 8.1 will fix it. Does somebody recomends just download that api individually?

With windows 7 in other PC galaxy goes fine.

I think it's worse than that... nothing wants to load all, even if I restart it, etc. I tried to delete the webcache to see if I could force it all to load again and now it's even worse. The store however does seem to load if I double click store a few times to force a refresh. I guess next I will try a re-install.

EDIT: It finally started working. Not sure what the issue was.

Have you gone back to using underscores in foldernames again? The latest beta for example named a folder "HoMM 5 - Tribes of the East" while before that version and now again is calling it "heroes_of_might_and_magic_v_tribes_of_the_east".

Gotta say that the naming without underscores was a bit off for some games. One example is Arena. Guess what game that is.......... The Elder Scrolls....
And here's another nutt to crack for you guys "VtMB".....
