I don't know if anybody else has reported this, but the new GalaxyUpdater gets flagged by Avira Antivir on macOS as a virus heuristic. More specifically, this file: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/autoupdate/desktop-galaxy-client/Contents/Resources/web/scripts/desktopNotificati onsOur.js.zip

This just happened to me (again) today. Only solution was to turn off the antivirus.
Erm why do start menu shortcuts (and I assume desktop shortcuts) now launch Galaxy automatically even if it is not open (at-least for recently updated games)? I confirmed you can still bypass Galaxy via the exe directly in game folder, but is this an intended change now?

You can submit it as false positive on their site: https://analysis.avira.com/en/submit

I have submitted the non-zipped version, submit the zipped one if you encounter it.

Hey,

we have released 1.2.11 version of Galaxy available for users with Public Beta enabled.

Except of two small improvements, it contains one big change about how Galaxy understands languages. This actually will not be a visible change for you, but it's rather big change for us, as it will enable us smoother and less error-prone work in future.

It's only available to limited number of users for now as language codes are used throughout communication between Galaxy, backend and website, so that's a lot of places :)
@GalaxyTeam

Can someone like please change redistributables to install similar to how Steam does? When you first launch the game instead of when downloading/installing? As someone who just wiped my PC for like the third time in 3 months... setting Galaxy to download at night becomes a pain because of these as it stops the download until the user is able to continue them.

I would rather Galaxy just download/install then prompt me for redistributables when I go to play. That or have Galaxy continue downloading the next game in the queue in the background while waiting for the user to handle these.

Basically simultaneous downloading...

Sounds like a good improvement TheTomasz! :D
What are the approximate dates for the release of at least the prealph version for Gnu/Linux. Will I have time to retire? Now to me 37yo
Thanks for the big gog connect list of games this time around !
I got 4 games, and usually I only get 1 or 0.
You guys and gals rock!
Not a huge deal, but I noticed that I did not get the Fallout: New Vegas achievement "The Boss". (Reach 30th level) My character is now level 32 or so.

Noticing this, I started a new game and tried various console commands to gain levels until I reached 30, but to no avail.

Win10
Yukichigai Unofficial Patch
NSVE
NVAC - Anti-crash mod

Hey,

which particular redist was a problem? AFAIK they should all (a) be silent (b) each downloaded and installed only once.

Liosan
My god, why do you release useless soft? I still can't choose game language in GOG! When do you fix it at last?

I want to say it was an older one Visual C++ 2005 or 2008 maybe? But it's not just redistributables, even if the game needs some third party program or something installed it will stop the games from downloading in the queue. The other night I queued up close to 50 GB of downloads and went to bed. Woke up the next morning with Galaxy stopped at 4 or 5 GB because if this.

Galaxy needs to gracefully continue to download silently in the background while waiting for user input or something to make this experience better.

Certain games have the language selection in GOG Galaxy, other games handle this in-game. It's up to the game developer, GOG has no control over the solution used in particular games.

Games installed via GOG Galaxy now have shortcuts that also point to GOG Galaxy, so that you will get all the features (game time tracking, achievements, overlay, multiplayer, cloud saves etc.) when launching games via shortcut.
