omega64: Well, I've had Aero off for ages, but just don't remember the top bar in Galaxy looking like that. >_<
Doesn't fit with the rest of the program. Why would you use the default windows bar.
avatar
Johny.: Galaxy always had a default system titlebar. :)
We are aware of the problem. For people with beta updates now - for all users later - titlebar in Windows 7 with Aero disabled will look slightly different than before.

For transparency:

We did some changes and optimizations in window handling, and external library we're using doesn't support this combination well. We cannot revert this change now, but this issue is definitely on our roadmap to be tackled. :)
Ah, ok. Thanks for the response at least.

I long for the day when Galaxy drops the standard windows frame and has a custom one. Just saying.

It would be nice to get some info on the v1.3.0 beta. Even a simple ballpark estimate for when we may see the release would be nice.

It has gotten way to quite in here and you guys should really communicate more please. Thank you.

I'm afraid you (users in general) will not get any info on next "big" versions ETAs... I'm sorry because I know you're personally eager to know or to participate in the beta. :)

I can assure you we're working hard to strike you all with features. :)

Well thanks for the reply then I guess.

It is a shame though because I fear the v1.3.0 beta will roll out like 1.2.0 beta did, full of really good features but many lacking the extra polish needed and not fully fleshed out which led to release version that was lacking for quite a while. Like an FPS indicator that didn't show when the overlay was not up or FPS keys that you could not rebind (still not added by the way), and number of other small things like that.

I think having people test the beta as early as possible before an official release is a good thing. Even having a few selected people to test these features before a wide roll out of the beta would do GOG a lot of good and provide a lot of valuable feedback. I can only speak for myself, but I would even be willing to sign a NDA to do something like that if GOG would just offer it.
It is like oil and water.

When maximizing / minimizig Galaxy (1.2.38 beta) window or manually resizing the frame,
there is a huge rendering lag and stuttering of GalaxyClient Helper.exe and unusual CPU usage spike.
Galaxy window need 2 seconds to rerender/ refresh after resizing .

Yea I've noticed a small render lag when first starting the client since installing the beta update aswell.
That cursed bug is back, the thumbnails keep disappearing again whenever I go/start offline! The curse of having over 600 games I suppose! ;) But yeah, having to add them constantly every time I go online is getting tiresome!
Since the latest Update for Win10 last week . Galaxy is randomly freezing. You can still maximize /minimize the Window but you can't click anything. Only a restart of Galaxy helps.
Is this already known?

Which version are you using? :) Best create a ticket on http://mantis.gog.com with logs attached.

Download speed is very slow. Anyone else?

Not to mention GOG Galaxy is a mess. What in the heck happened? Frequent lock ups and my dowload goes no faster than 1.4 Mbps. It's unuseable.

Did you try this:

https://www.google.com/search?q=gog+galaxy+slow+download+speeds

Usually that's a sign that Galaxy can't get past your firewall. If you mention what specific OS you're using as well as your firewall, someone may be able to point you in the right direction.

Please let us know what other things you've tried to fix the problem.
Hey,

we have released GOG Galaxy 1.2.39 for everyone.

This update consists mostly of the changes, which were already available through our Beta updates.

Apart from that we've decided to increase number of download threads to 32, based on our tests, it seems like a good switch, especially for those of you living in areas where we did not yet fully develop our GOG network.

Full changelog, as always you can find either in GOG Galaxy app, or in the sticky post in this thread.

Enjoy!

TheTomasz: Enjoy!
I'd like too but stuff like this is getting really old. I swear this damn icon bug is never going to be solved... nearly everytime I restart now I got missing icons.

Also the update changelog list 1.2.39 as a beta so?
