Sacred 1 Gold still doesn't work running though Galaxy's latest version in Win 10. Clicking on the play button just gives a black screen and endless loading while still being able to see the Galaxy window and the taskbar. I have to use task manager to kill Sacred.exe to exit the process. Running the game the ususal way without using Galaxy works fine however.

That sounds to me like the overlay is causing issues. Does the game launch with your overlay disabled in the settings for the game? globally disabled in the GOG Galaxy settings? I don't own the game to test, so I hope this is something you have yet to try and it turns out to be the case.

Tried disabling the overlay, but it still doesn't work.

Sorry to hear that. I don't think there is much else GOG Galaxy does to games other than launching them and injecting the overlay. Perhaps there is a library file missing or corrupted. Some dll shenanigans taking place is usually the next check on the list. Perhaps the GOG Galaxy launching process neglects to load the proper file.

When you launch the game outside GOG Galaxy, is it a separate installation or is it the GOG Galaxy installation and you are simply going into the directory to launch the game manually? If it is a separate installation, perhaps compare the directories to see if there is a file missing.

At the least, I am sure GOG would appreciate you placing your issue on the mantis bug emporium website incase others more timid are experiencing it.

Good luck and I am sorry for bothering you and not being much help.

EDIT:
Well, I am downloading and installing it right now, so we will see if it is a Windows 10 feature. I know how often Windows 10 likes to break people's systems because progress is messy and stuff. Perhaps we can narrow it down this way. I am using Windows 7 64bit Home Premium and if I can launch the game no issue then we have made progress I think.

No prob, thanks for trying to help anyways.

It's the same installation, the default C:/gog games like i've been using for years. Using the game's regular Windows icon or anything else to launch works fine. It's just trying to lauch through Galaxy that doesn't work and i've only had this problem with this one game.

I reported the issue and they said they were able to reproduce it in Win 10 32 bit, but not 64 bit which is what I use. Said they'd look into it and fix it, but that was months ago.

You are absolutely welcome. I just launched through GOG Galaxy without issue using Windows 7 64bit Home Premium. I see there is no option for the overlay, so I was totally off my first comment. :D Hopefully they figure it out for you. I know they had some internal turmoil lately so that might be delaying the fix on it.

Perhaps if you downloaded the game from the website and installed it outside GOG Galaxy, and then tried to import the game into your library. That might change the way some things are handled. Regardless what you do from here on out, I hope you get it fixed.

I've tried both installing via Galaxy and via offline installer. Still no dice.

No big deal and in no rush to play it at the moment, I just wanted to install a bunch of stuff ahead of time so I don't have to do it later lol.
Since the fall creators update I am having an issue that whenever I quit a game, GOG galaxy stops working. I can click on it and bring up my library but whenever I click on something it just clicks on whatever was behind the window like the GOG galaxy window does not exist. I have to exit GOG galaxy from the tray icon and re-launch to use again.

I ran into a little annoyance when playing that lead me to visit the Sacred 1 forums. I found this discussion :Sacred Gold. Higher resolution or HD version that had a link to a piece of software that might offer you a solution. It is a simple copy&paste installation and requires no administrative rights to run. I hope this is of help to you.

A good idea as i've gotten Interstate 76 to work at the proper speed using dgvoodoo, but it didn't work for Sacred. This seems like something gog will have to fix in Galaxy.
There is some problem with Grim Dawn. There is already thread about it over in GD subforum, but I figured there is better chance someone responsible will see it here. In short, when trying to launch multiplayer game, it thinks I'm not logged into Galaxy when I am, and refuses to launch MP.

This wouldn't bother me as much, I wouldn't even try if I didn't see the mentioned thread. But another problem which might be connected is that achievements stopped working. I'm playing HC character to get the few remaining ones. Last one I have is "reached level 85" 7 days ago. Since then I finished the regular campain in HC Ultimate which also grants achievement - but galaxy ignored that one (in-game achivement popup appeared, it just didn't update in Galaxy).

Third problem, after last Galaxy update, all my in-game achivements did reset. I had spam of reacquiring most of them after logging in my char, but not all - some are connected to mob deaths under certain conditions (kill warden with char below level 11 comes to mind).

Only thing that still works is game time tracking, otherwise GD behaves like it cannot talk to Galaxy at all.
Hey, quick question: how many people use the "launch at computer startup" option for GOG Galaxy? Does it start up quickly or slowly?

Depends on number of games you have installed and your hardware. It starts quickly for me - now that I moved system to SSD. Before that the boot was painfully slow, but most of it looked like the OS doing it's own things, unrelated to Galaxy. Best is to experiment a bit it on your system instead of relying random strangers on the internet. Since my PC is dedicated to gaming and the first thing I would do is start Galaxy anyway, I decided to leave the autostart on even on rotating disk, I just had enough time to go make coffe before everything loaded.

Autostart is so slow I get timeout errors for some reason. I'm trying to figure out why but so far I'm at a loss. It didn't start until a few months ago, so I'm thinking maybe an update caused it, which given that the timeout errors go away if I uninstall and reinstall a new version of GOG Galaxy but come back when Galaxy updates itself seems kinda likely. Plus, it started the day after update 1.2.26 landed.

Would it be possible to add play time to the library screen for each game? It feels clunky to click each individual game to see how much play time I have on them.
