1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

Changes and Improvements:
- When hovering over mutual friends in friends suggestions - you can see the full list of mutual friends.
- GOG Galaxy will no longer treat non-zero exit codes returned from dependency installers (such as Physx, Visual C++ Redistributables) as failure (caused configuration error on installation)
- Allows users to download cloud saves backup for all games with enabled cloud saves
- GOG Galaxy will no longer be locked out from launching, if Galaxy Updater cannot launch at all
- Upon update, invalid leftovers from database will be removed. They were caused by a bug with verify/repair (which was fixed in 1.2.44)
- Running a webinstaller again will not interfere with already running installation process
- "Continue previous session" setting will correctly restore last web content (game card, forum topic etc.)
- When showing a conflict, GOG Galaxy will not show invalid date anymore (It may still happen once until conflict is resolved)
- In case when GOG Galaxy is unable to fetch ownership information about not installed game (eg. User is not logged in), Install/Buy button will be disabled, instead of showing spinner infinitely. Play button is always enabled, when game is installed

bakagringo: Thanks for the clarification. I like to see GOG as a pioneer for consumer-friendliness, and I understand that being in that position makes things more rigid. It is not my intention to put you in a bad light, but I would like to stress that with the recent emergence of web-apps, and increasingly privacy-invading systems, I am worried about GOG not having an option to completely disable tracking. By completely, I also mean completely removing trackers such as Twitter buttons (Clearly I also showed the client connects to Twitter). I understand that some users may want to connect their GOG profile to external services, but I would like there to be an option to disable these systems completely for users who do not wish to be tracked. Since you have a client I believe you should be able to do this client-side without using cookies.

Also, while I am able to block the communication with an application firewall on Mac Os, this is slightly more challenging on systems like Windows where networking works differently.

Furthermore, while analytics is mainly for your own purposes, is it limited to you only, or does Google use it for other means as well?

I understand your opinion on tracking and that you're trying to "hide" yourself from it.

Other than website - Galaxy Client doesn't directly connect to google/twitter/fb. I can't respond whether we can add an option to disable all of it on website, but we won't disable re-captcha on demand, which is also "connected to google" - or youtube, which is also google's (although Galaxy downloads only the thumbnail until you play the video). Forum pages have some JavaScript APIs for facebook loaded etc.

I don't know for sure whether google use the data for other purposes than showing us statistics, but I guess they (companies you mentioned) use big data, algorhythms, neural networks to gather some information and e.g. personalize ads for you. It's too much data to use by a person, but big data algorhythms can handle it.
ajkishel: In looking at my Library in the Galaxy client, the game count displayed in parentheses after My Collection appears to be short by one of the number of games listed. When viewing the Library in a regular browser, the number after My Collection is one higher and appears more likely to match the number of listed games.

Are there any games that would not be counted by the Galaxy client but would be counted by the browser?
No, you should see all your games - check system filter (although it shouldn't change the number), there's also hide game option, you can see your hidden games when clicking on "My collection" dropdown.

Try clicking on the "Library" -> "All my games" again as it will refresh the library view.
Lemonjooce: I've been having all sort of issues with version 1.2.10, the main one being Galaxy not closing properly.

More often than not the "Exit" option in the drop-down menu won't do anything, so I'd try and close the client from the traybar and that would do it, or so I thought.
At this point the application wouldn't show in Windows' Task Manager (Win 7 64bit), but all of its processes were still running as if nothing happened, and network resources monitor would show Galaxy hogging all the available bandwidth ignoring the limits rules from the client settings (which it was otherwise respecting before trying to close it).
It seems to be a consistent behaviour with this version, and the only way I'm able to fix it is to manually shut down each of the processes that are somehow still running in the background.

Another "minor" problem I found is Galaxy resuming downloads that were canceled multiple times (not paused), but it's probably related to the above mentioned issue.
This may be easily trackable by looking at your logs. Please post an issue here, so we can see why it's happening:
It certainly should not happen, and I would find it quite irritating.

Lhademmor: I don't know if anybody else has reported this, but the new GalaxyUpdater gets flagged by Avira Antivir on macOS as a virus heuristic. More specifically, this file: /Users/Shared/

This just happened to me (again) today. Only solution was to turn off the antivirus.
You can submit it as false positive on their site:

we have released 1.2.11 version of Galaxy available for users with Public Beta enabled.

Except of two small improvements, it contains one big change about how Galaxy understands languages. This actually will not be a visible change for you, but it's rather big change for us, as it will enable us smoother and less error-prone work in future.

It's only available to limited number of users for now as language codes are used throughout communication between Galaxy, backend and website, so that's a lot of places :)

Can someone like please change redistributables to install similar to how Steam does? When you first launch the game instead of when downloading/installing? As someone who just wiped my PC for like the third time in 3 months... setting Galaxy to download at night becomes a pain because of these as it stops the download until the user is able to continue them.

I would rather Galaxy just download/install then prompt me for redistributables when I go to play. That or have Galaxy continue downloading the next game in the queue in the background while waiting for the user to handle these.

Basically simultaneous downloading...

which particular redist was a problem? AFAIK they should all (a) be silent (b) each downloaded and installed only once.

Certain games have the language selection in GOG Galaxy, other games handle this in-game. It's up to the game developer, GOG has no control over the solution used in particular games.

Games installed via GOG Galaxy now have shortcuts that also point to GOG Galaxy, so that you will get all the features (game time tracking, achievements, overlay, multiplayer, cloud saves etc.) when launching games via shortcut.
grassotto: since some updates ago galaxy is no longer working on my mac os sierra 10.12.5 . It closes just a few seconds after startup, after it has logged my account i guess, tried to start it without logging in and i doesn't crash i think. I am trying to troubleshoot this, reistalling and rebooting didn't fix the issue. How do i completely uninstall it for a fresh reinstall on mac os? i haven't found much on this issue so i guess it is pretty uncommon
Before you do this, you could file a bug report (so we can see what it was) on - details on how to do it are there.

To completely uninstall Galaxy on MacOS, close the application and perform those actions in MacOS terminal (deleting these folders):

RTA: Just thought I'd pass on some positive news ....

Galaxy 1.2.10 now doesn't monopolise my machine. In fact, I'm typing this with Galaxy still running, which was not possible with 1.2.9.

The updating of Games now seems to work instead of continually crashing.

A major step forward with this build.

Could you please tell me how many (approximately) games you have indexed in Galaxy Client?

Someone from my team told me that we might have a fix for that screenshot issue - waiting to be released together with another feature. I don't know when it will be released, though.

we have released Galaxy 1.2.12. It contains the changes (regarding language codes) that were released on Beta before.

It also contains some minor Frontend fixes.

As always, all the changes you can find in the changelog :)
PhoncibleP: After removing it from and reinstalling, the client now crashes after about 7 seconds, every single time.

Considering software updates are now being deployed through the client well in advance of the website (for example, the current version of Thimbleweed Park), this is extremely frustrating.

What do I do now?

BKGaming: The question is though, is anyone actually looking at these reports on a daily/weekly basis? No offense but you guys post a lot suggesting we report on mantis, but the reports largely just sit there...
Still logs are the only way to find cause of such bugs. There are common issues which you can find on support pages of course. We're fixing bugs every week - not necessarily from mantis - and part of the team regularly goes through issues there. It's not that easy to maintain, as you have noticed. :)

Almost finished Witcher3 GotY but still want to know what cause the save uploads (to the clouds) to fail. My save folder is ~1.5 GB big, evertime I close the game it start uploading save to the cloud and stop at 50-75% progress bar then it say "failed to upload".
Is there some sort of timer that stop upload? Don't thing that's connection issue...
There's a quota limit per game you can upload to the cloud storage. Try reducing your folder size.
