Any website (which is pretty much all websites) that targets and profiles consumers via ad tech without the user's explicit permission and control is by definition...malware/spyware/adware. It's that simple, it's no longer debatable. Ad tech's days are numbered (wishful thinking?), they've done it to themselves. It would be nice if GOG allowed users to disallow any social media tags within the Galaxy client.

If ad tech is so wonderful, why in the world is everyone using ad blockers, tracker blockers, disabling 3rd party cookies...etc., etc. etc. So in a sense, the entire internet in it's present state is...mallicious, since pretty much every website uses ad tech.

Websites need to returrn to traditional, context based, advertising or suffer the consequences. Ad tech is a grotesque violation of privacy, security, individual sovereignty, liberty and civil rights! There is NO online security without online privacy!

Whenever I select the forums for a game I own in gog galaxy, facebook opens on my browser.

Every 2 weeks this bug is back. this is not a mistake anymore. this is on purpose. they know about the problem, but it is always coming back. if you cannot get facebook plugins get to work, get rid of everything facebook. a complete facebook purge on this site. otherwise this bug will come back again. it is not funny anymore. this is the most amateur behaviour i ever saw from any company. As long as this bug is coming back, i am not buying anymore. and i love gog. but this is bullshit! this is malware.

Not sure what it's doing (though I suspect GOG is just relying on facebook for some sort of data tracking. I hate facebook, but - it would just be someone else if not them).

As far as I can tell, the URL is pointing in part to "ancestor origins"...which is defintely not GOG. That's probably why we're getting invalid ID (shrug).

1) *Probably* no reason to be disturbed. Just a screw up in a URL used to access a web resource
2) Pissed is reasonable, but only as a general response to facebook.

I could easily be wrong...pure guesswork.

Facebook is so toxic even GOG software became self conscious AI and decided to make Facebook as far away from GOG as possible XD
