Just started having this problem today...Also a single-user PC. Rebooted after a component update, all of a sudden, "GOG Galaxy cannot launch because it is already running on another account on this computer.", which seriously confused and scared me, because I thought someone had managed to create another user account under my nose without my knowledge. Please fix this, GOG. I love the platform, but this is rough. The workaround seems to have worked this time, but it's apparent it doesn't always work.
@SmollestLight - that fix doesn't work for me. One account, one PC and I have the same issue as evewrybody else.

Am about to submit a bug report but, tbh, this is a MASSIVE issue, that should not still be occuring.

I don't even have that file. So I guess I'm screwed.
Simple fix to me would be for the user to opt OUT of using clients that behave like DRM. I don't think this issue has ever occurred for people using offline "backup" installers instead of Galaxy.

JTQuincy: Go to C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\lock-files and delete the GalaxyClient.exe.lock file and try launching Galaxy again
Thank you very much, it's worked. ;)

Thanks! worked for me too :)
I needed to delete the other file in the directory to get it work:

GalaxyClient.exe-galaxy-client.lock

First i deleted GalaxyClient.exe.lock, but that didn't help. So i don't know if it was because of deleting both or the other file.

RycowyRycu: GOG Galaxy cannot launch because it is already running on another account on this computer. - this message shows everytime I try to launch GOG client. It's strange because I've got only one account on my computer and never had any others. After I click "OK" the message disappear and nothing's going to run. I tried to uninstall GOG too, but I cannot do it because it says I have to close it on another account. I don't know what to do and feel a little bit confused, please, help.

Sorry if a topic like this was there before, I couldn't find any.
I'm having to delete the lock file every time now. Looks like shutting down windows doesn't clear the file automatically for me.

I accessed the directory using the Run... window (WinKey+R key combination) and entering:
%programdata%\GOG.com\Galaxy\lock-files\ - then deleted both files in there and restarted. Worked like a charm :-)

Thanks. This fixed it for me. Had to delete both files as well. We'll see how long it keeps working lol.
