GOG Galaxy cannot launch because it is already running on another account on this computer. - this message shows everytime I try to launch GOG client. It's strange because I've got only one account on my computer and never had any others. After I click "OK" the message disappear and nothing's going to run. I tried to uninstall GOG too, but I cannot do it because it says I have to close it on another account. I don't know what to do and feel a little bit confused, please, help.

Sorry if a topic like this was there before, I couldn't find any.

What Operating System are you using? On Windows at least you can have several users or minimum of one. It sounds like you have more than one user setup on your machine, and that has locked it. Try signing out - in Win 10 for instance open start bar, click on name at the top and select sign out - this will redirect you back to the sign in screen. See how many users there are, one of those probably has it locked.

Why bother checking, when you can just reboot? If there are any additional accounts, logged in or otherwise, they will all be logged out by a reboot and if the issue happens again, then it is likely something wrong with Galaxy.

I'm using Windows 8.1 and I've got only one user setup on my computer, that's why all of this is so strange to me. I even checked my computer accounts a while ago and there's only me and I'm the admin.

Reboot, in this day and age. Why the mere mention of such of a thing :o)
You are quite right, and its a good example of why you should always shut down, and not leave your system on standby, with 300 tabs in firefox etc.

Have you tried re-booting completely as codagh pointed out. Try with the Admin account to. Otherwise its likely to be a mail to support.

I've got this problem from week so I restarted my computer many times since all has started. And still, I'm the only user on my computer.

Yup, i did, as the admin too. Mailing support sounds like the only way to get rid of this problem.

Anyway, thanks to all of you guys!

Yea, I tried to do that but the access is denied. Don't even know why, I'm the admin but it seems like I'm still not allowed to do it.

And I'm not allowed to delete galaxy because as my computer says it's running on the another account and I have to close it first... Is there any way to force closing it on "another account"?

Perhaps you should take control over your pc first..
Right, restart to safe mode and then delete the key. Also check your antivirus or other oveprotective software. Make sure you have actually administrator privileges.
More DRM in Galaxy?
Darnit, I should be able to run as many Galaxies as I want!

You can, you just need to be threadsafe on universe.

K, so safe mode saved my ass actually.
Thanks for the advice.
Everything's cool now, it was Windows fault for sure.
It's finally over.
