Please use: http://mantis.gog.com and include
1. steps to reproduce the bug (if possible)
2. screenshot or movie showing the bug (if possible)
3. Galaxy Client logs (see below)

Where can I find Galaxy logs on my computer?
On Windows 7 or later: C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\Galaxy\Logs
On Mac OS X: /Users/Shared/GOG.com/Galaxy/Logs

== FEATURE SUGGESTIONS ==

Please use: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy. For feature suggestions and votes on them please try do explain how Galaxy and its users will really benefit from it.

== IMPORT ALREADY INSTALLED GAMES TO GALAXY ==

1. For GOG games installed using installers from the last few months (so called Galaxy-compatible installers)
Click the Galaxy logo button on top of the sidebar and select "scan and import folders" - it will find all compatible games within that folder and add them to the Client.

2. For remaining GOG game INSTALLATIONS
Find the game in the Library (click on the image of the game), then click the More button and select "Manage Installation" -> "Import folder" and point the folder selector into the folder where that game is installed.

== KNOWN ISSUES ==
- throttling max download speed is not yet possible
- notifications related to incoming chat messages and friend requests does not always disappear instantly when consumed and may require reloading Store page
- games imported from existing installations will auto-update once, even if updating is disabled
- Moving Galaxy from /Applications on Mac OS X will stop the app from working
- Galaxy cannot be launched by other users on the same computer

For everyone who has a problem with missing api-ms-crt dlls in Client's versions post 1.1.5:
Please install one of those windows update: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118401
You may need to update Windows to meet the requirements for these:
For Windows 8.1 and for Windows Server 2012: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2919355
For Windows 7 and for Windows Server 2008 R2: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/976932

You can also try reinstalling Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables 2015 (x86) if you meet above requirements.
Available here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145

If above instructions doesn't work for you, create a separate issue on mantis.gog.com and we'll try to help you individually.

Please note that this solution only helps with the missing api-ms-crt dlls.

========================================================================================

Answering this question: Why 1.1 doesn't work after updating to 1.2?

This is happening probably due to incompatible database from version 1.2, please delete this folder:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GOG.com\Galaxy\storage
usually
C:\ProgramData\GOG.com\storage\

Then you'll have to use scan&import (menu under the top Galaxy logo) function to see your games back in Galaxy Client.

I followed these instruction but I think I am missing some part as am not able to make it correctly, will try once again.
So I haven't used Galaxy in a while and when I do want to use it, all of sudden I find this popping up every time I try to open the program. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I got a ton of games installed in Galaxy and I was really liking it, it'd be a shame if I lost all of that already.

You need to install some version of Visual C++ Redistributable. Try installing the x86 and also (if you have a 64 bit OS) the x64 versions of the 2010 and 2012 versions. It's a problem they really, really, really need to fix in the next update, because it seems like all they have to do is add the missing program to the Galaxy installer, and someone comes asking about it more or less every week at this point.

Crsldmc: Win7 and 10, works flawlessly on both for me.

TrueDosGamer: The only thing that works for me is the GOG Galaxy browser and downloading GOG Galaxy patch files for the game. But not seeing any multiplayer games in TROTT. Maybe it only works fully only in W7 and W10 so far.
Sad to hear mate, but they'll get to it eventually!

I will probably revisit Galaxy in the future with W7 64-bit or W10 64-bit to see if it is an OS issue preventing it from working properly.

I'm pretty sure that is something on your end mate, shouldn't have anything to do with the OS really... it's a firewall or connection issue most likely or something your missing. As I said before had the same issue until letting the game through the Windows firewall.

It's not a Windows firewall issue since I disabled it when trying GOG Galaxy as a last resort.

I am using a server to share the internet connection but I doubt somehow that could be the issue.

I'll troubleshoot having it directly connected to see if that changes things but if somehow you can't use GOG Galaxy when using a computer sharing an internet connection then I can't be the only one who has had this issue. I'm sure most people share their internet connection.

But if Windows 7 64-bit doesn't work with GOG Galaxy then and it's not a firewall issue then it would be baffling. And yes I did allow all those GOG and game processes in my Windows Firewall but like I said GOG Galaxy has no problem downloading the patch files for the game I'm launching so I know GOG Galaxy is working. It just can't see the Multiplayer games which is the only point for me to use GOG Galaxy. For all I know achievements probably work fine if GOG Galaxy can download updates but that's not a selling point for me. :)

Multiplayer fun DRM free style is all I need from GOG Galaxy.
Hey Guys,

At the moment I am giving Galaxy an other chance and I wanted to write my experience. In short, its not going well.

1- I wanted to install NWN2 which I had a copy of in my backup disk. I installed it normally and even played it for a bit.
2- Then I opened Galaxy. I used the option library->More->import folder and it recognized the game and started updating.
3- First problem. Before the update, it checked the files on the server and on my machine. Checking server files was quick but when it came to checking files on my disk, it took 25 minutes. This shouldnt take that long.
4- When it finally started updating, it came to 60% really quick. Then when it started downloading, I thought it was stuck with 0.1 MB download / second. It took an other 1 hour to reach 70%. Download speeds from Galaxy needs working.
5- After 70 % it reached 100% immediately.
6- After 100%, installation started "moving". Dont know what from where to where but it stuck at 92.9%. It took an other 20 minutes to "move"
7- It started configuring. I think that took less than a minute which concluded the installation.
8- The game worked perfectly without problems.

Galaxy doesn't enable all games to offer multiplayer through it, rather Galaxy has an optional multiplayer matchmaking service available which game developers are able to use if they wish to. This means only games that have chosen to use it and have had Galaxy multiplayer support specifically coded by the developer will have the feature available. As of now that is around 5-10 games or so including Aliens vs. Predator classic, The Witcher Adventure game and a small handful of other titles. There isn't any special multiplayer screen/page to go to, rather you simply start a game that has multiplayer capabilities and the game either uses Galaxy multiplayer (if supported) or it uses some other multiplayer mode if implemented. If a game developer has not written code for their game to talk to GOG Galaxy's multiplayer service then that game wont work with Galaxy multiplayer matchmaking.

What in particular were you expecting the Galaxy multiplayer handling to do? If there's something specific, you might want to consider adding it to the official wishlist.

Everything you've mentioned above is a quite common experience for many in the current developmental beta. Part of it is due to the lack of compressed delta updates, and part of it is due to unoptimized game install verification (or so it seems). When you install games outside of Galaxy it has no knowledge of the game installation or the integrity of the files, so it fully scans every single file and compares them with what is on GOG's servers. This can take an extremely long time and beat the heck out of the hard disk while it's doing so. It then synchronizes any differences which means re-downloading any files it has determined to be different. Basically this means in practice that it will just re-download everything again anyway so you might as well install via Galaxy directly rather than using the standalone installers, at least until they come up with a better installation verification algorithm.

Sometimes a download or install will get almost all the way through and then seemingly pause forever at 99% or thereabouts for some people also.

If you experience those types of issues you might want to wait until the next major update (1.1.6 presumably) is out to see if they've improved any of this functionality. Actually it might be good to wait a while longer after 1.1.6 is out as it is probably going to introduce a large amount of new code since it's been eons since a major update so they've probably got a lot of new code that'll need to get tested, beat up, fixed, tested, fixed, etc. until it stabilizes. Hopefully we get some goodies soon though. :)

I'm using TROTT which is just one of the few "multiplayer" network capable games on GOG Galaxy. I have not tried any other of the GOG Galaxy supported muliplayer games since I do not own those. I have seen others post a screen shot of the servers showing up in Multiplayer mode for TROTT so I know it's not working only for me.

As for specifics it would be better if GOG tried to add support for GOG Galaxy multiplayer games that were smaller like a couple hundred megabytes download so it would be easier to test out. TROTT was pretty massive. I already suggested they try to add support for Worms into GOG Galaxy multiplayer. That would take 30 minutes to download and install rather quickly. It would easier to network test that or get games going.

At the moment until I confirm via troubleshooting to isolate if it is an OS issue or network issue preventing me from seeing the multiplayer games in TROTT I'm probably going to wait for a newer version of GOG Galaxy before attempting it again.

Maybe a year from now if this is a GOG Galaxy issue it will be patched. But since the number of games supported is still limited at this stage it's better to wait until they support more games.

FWIW, that game is extremely buggy. I couldn't even get it to run at all until one of the more recent patches finally fixed it so it'd start. If I had to wager on a multiplayer related problem I'd put my money on "game bug" TBH.

I understand what you're saying, and I think it'd be awesome to have as much of the game catalogue add support for GOG Galaxy multiplayer as possible in the future where it makes sense. What a lot of people do not realize however, is that multiplayer is not something that GOG or anyone else can easily just tack onto the side of a game because they'd like to have it supported, rather it involves having the actual source code of the game and the legal right to modify and add features to a given game and sell the results. GOG does own the rights to some games as they are now a publisher as well, but the vast majority of titles in the GOG catalogue are owned by other companies, and it is my understanding that GOG does not have the source code of the majority of games in the catalogue. As such it is virtually impossible for GOG themselves to add GOG Galaxy multiplayer support to the majority of games in the catalogue even if they had the legal rights to do so and both the desire and the manpower to do it.

We all would like our games to be as functional as possible of course. I mean why wouldn't we? I'd love to see all multiplayer games support LAN multiplayer and direct IP/peer to peer multiplayer personally even much more than centralized online multiplayer matchmaking, but I'd like to see that in games it makes sense for also. For the most part however, the overwhelming majority of games are owned by third party publishers/developers who not only own the rights to decide about what features their games will support, but they exclusively own the source code of their games which is required in order to add the support (if they even have the source code, which for many games was lost years/decades ago).

Unfortunately, what we all would love to have in the perfect ideal fantasy, is just not technically and/or economically possible as a whole. It might be on an individual game by game basis though, and if any distributor out there is likely to make any inroads to see these things happen of course it would be GOG.

TrueDosGamer: At the moment until I confirm via troubleshooting to isolate if it is an OS issue or network issue preventing me from seeing the multiplayer games in TROTT I'm probably going to wait for a newer version of GOG Galaxy before attempting it again.

Maybe a year from now if this is a GOG Galaxy issue it will be patched. But since the number of games supported is still limited at this stage it's better to wait until they support more games.
I don't have the game installed at the moment or I'd poke around with it a bit as well and offer to help diagnose. I'd suspect a local configuration issue first, and second to that some kind of obscure game bug, but I wouldn't rule out anything either. I too hope to see Galaxy mature over the next year and while I do test it and experiment, I mostly install games manually and launch them directly or via the Steam client (for overlay functionality) these days. I hope they get the major features rolling soon and stomp out the worst bus etc. as the platform looks quite promising.

Hopefully in the future as they grow, they'll be able to convince more publishers to enhance their games, or even acquire the rights and source code to more of them to be able to do it themselves. That would rock. :)
I'm wondering: I wrote a review, but it doesn't seem to appear on the shop page. Is this related to Galaxy?

Edit: (I wrote the review while using the client).
