Bring all your games and friends in one place with GOG GALAXY 2.0. The closed beta just launched and you can still join by signing up now.

GOG GALAXY 2.0 is an application designed for all gamers, that will allow to combine multiple game libraries into one and connect with friends across all gaming platforms, PC and consoles. Announced last month, the application launches in the closed beta today.

Those who receive an invitation, will get the opportunity to check and test the apps’ core features – connecting multiple platforms, installing and launching PC games, organizing the library and seeing friends’ gaming activity.
Here’s what gamers can expect from GOG GALAXY 2.0 in the closed beta stage:

Your Games.
Import all your games from PC and consoles, build and organize them into one master collection. Install and launch any PC game you own, no matter the platform.
Keep track of all your achievements, hours played and games owned.
Customize your library by filtering, sorting, tagging, and adding your own visuals like game backgrounds or covers.

Your Friends.
See your friends’ cross-platform achievements, game time milestones and recently played games.
Compete on leaderboards and see who’s the master collector, completionist or spends the most time playing.

Your Privacy.
Your personal data will never be shared with third parties.
We’re not spying on data from your computer.
With a single click, you can remove imported games and friends data from our servers.

More
Connect more platforms and add new features with open-source integrations.
All customizations and changes to your library are saved in the cloud and synced between all your devices.
Save any view like a customized library or favorite games and friends to access them instantly.

Your GOG Client.
The best way to run and update your GOG games.
Use features like cloud saving, in-game overlay, multiplayer & matchmaking, rollbacks and more.
The client is not required to play your DRM-free GOG games.

The version of GOG GALAXY 2.0 in the closed beta is still a work-in-progress application, it won’t include all of the features, and users may experience some bugs or issues. Additional features and functionalities may be added during the beta phase.
Everyone participating in the closed beta is encouraged to give their feedback in the GOG GALAXY 2.0 forums or via GOG’s social media channels.

GOG GALAXY 2.0 in the closed beta is available for Windows and Mac, and requires a GOG account. You can still sign up at www.gogalaxy.com for the closed beta access.
Haven't received an invite yet. Should I Just wait for it or register again for the Beta?

Gengar78: Still kinda confused about the whole "console" thing. Will it only work for current generation platforms or could 360/PS3 games be "imported" as well? Why not games on consoles even older than that? Neither this ariticle nor the FAQ say how far back this feature is going.
Well besides the current stuff of viewing Xbox and PS games on your account (probably even streaming those games to PC perhaps) it mainly applies to emulators I guess. The sky is the limit here with the plug-ins, which is what makes it so great.

You will be able to import older 'console' games using emulators in the future. The API-documentation on github has a list of the current supported 'Platform ID's' as GOG calls it. https://github.com/gogcom/galaxy-integrations-python-api/blob/master/PLATFORM_IDs.md Take a good look at all those beautiful (classic) consoles in there too.

I feel like GOG wants to have the main game clients official before they start thinking about adding those emulators, but nobody is stopping anybody from designing a plug-in that makes Galaxy play and show all your Gamecube/Wii games using Dolphin.

Chacranajxy: I just want Galaxy 2.0 because it brings the box art back.
Cool. How come you prefer the box art?
I imagine he prefers the box art for the same reason that so many of us use Adalia Fundamentals plugin for GOG.com itself, to be more like the original GOG.com library with the gorgeous box art. Like this: https://imgur.com/1eERQry

Not unless Nintendo notices :P
I was involved in the original launch testing back when I was more active on the forums. I reported a few issues with downloading and installing but once those were resolved, I had no further problems. I've been using the latest beta version on Windows 10 without any issues for ages now.

I signed up for this within the first hour and am still (im)patiently awaiting my invitation - please GOG? ;-) Just because I don't post here very often doesn't mean I won't actively test and feedback - honest!

jm.maksiu: Signed some time ago. Still no invite. Waiting patiently :)
Saaaame ;P
Cool, hopefully I'll get an invite to try it.
Lack of announced linux support is incredibly disappointing. I would love to use gog more, but it gets about 1% of my gaming time because Steam is the only game in town that offers proper linux support. I hope you make this more of a priority in the future. Thanks.

It looks so much more inviting than the cards do. The art, itself, tends to be better, and there's more of it since it's a larger image. Silly as it sounds, it kinda makes me want to actually play the games more.
seems weird to me for this thread to be so inactive
Would be may more active if we had already received our invitation and could actually tell something about the new client ;-)
I install the Beta of Galaxy 2.0 last week and my brief opinion:

The look of games in vertical is very good. Amazing.

Cons:

I find difficult to see the wishlist, the profiles or the forum if you can. Maybe i am more familiar with Galaxy 1.2 perhaps.

The style more dark "steam style" is a bit weird.

But the connection with other platforms is good and i hope GOG has succesful with this.
