It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

I'm on the invite list for Galaxy so I don't yet know if that might solve this question, but at present I have to actively open GOG.com & check my account to see if there are any responses/replies to my posts. Is there any kind of applet for GOG, like I have for Gmail, This is my Jam and Tom's Hardware, that sits on the top right of my Chrome page and shows numbers to indicate responses?

This may have what you need. Don't use it myself, but many others do.

I use the essentials, but it's an enhancer for the site. I believe what the OP wants is something that informs him without opening the site.

To the OP: GOG downloader informs you of PMs and replies, but why you'd keep it open instead of simply checking the site is beyond me. Still, it's there.
Thanx cogadh, but I've tried and removed that due to a reported bad reputation.
Thanx P1na, you're correct, that is what I'm after ideally. I can & do use the downloader but it's normally just an icon in the dock & doesn't notify me in that state. It's seems such a simple thing but with Steam for instance not only is it super easy to access any forum for any game in your library & their store, but they also have a pop up green box to let you know you have replies. You can see why they're so popular. :)

Could you please elaborate on the part I highlighted?
Sure HypersomniacLive. It's just that I use and trust Avast antivirus. Occasionally Avast will notify me of suspicious browser add ons, usually stating that they have a bad reputation among users. This was the case with Barefoot Essentials, with privacy issues being given as the reason. I did wonder when I downloaded it, why it needed to access my browser history. Not that I've anything to hide, and I assumed it might be for advertising but most sites use cookies for that I think, so it does beg the question as to why they need to access your browser history. Anyway, I trust Avast and for the small advantages that BE seemed to offer, I decided to err on the side of caution. Hope that's claryfied things. :)
Thanks for the reply.
