Themken: I think Steam made a GOG move and changed the settings for everyone as I sure could not remember having set things the way they were when I logged into Steam to see why it would not connect. I got it to work without installing anything but I did pull up respective game's card once.
When it wasn't working for me I also looked around my steam profile settings, but I didn't notice anything weird. What do you mean that you pulled "up respective game's card once." Do you mean that you visited that game's steam page in the STEAM client, and after that it worked? If that's the case, I should remember to try that out next time, to avoid the waste of time installing them.

Something like that, whatever was possible without the actual client. I just poked around Steam with my browser; even had to double login.

Interesting. Thanks, I'll give it a try next time.

Visiting the gamecard and logging in to Steam a couple of times didn't help. Maybe I just redeemed the game on Steam too late towards the end of the sale whereas at the beginning of the sale it recognised a game right away

So you missed out on it?

Yeah, the 2nd game being Grimrock which I redeemed about 15 hours before the sale ended. 1st game has been in my account for years and was recognised straight away on the 1st day of the sale, the game was Starpoint Gemini 2

I had a Hotline Miami 2 key, from somewhere... I can't remember, which I redeemed it when the GOG connect titles were announced, and for almost a week GOG didn't recognize the game. But as soon as I installed and started the game on STEAM, I could redeem it here. It clearly has something to do with the way STEAM handles new additions to the account.

I also tried to explain this to the OP, but he insisted on contacting GOG support, and apparently they ?refreshed his GOG and STEAM account? to fix his issue.

I actually read and tried your 1st suggestion which was to install and play it for a while. I even played it for 15-20 mins, didn't know I would like it that much since I hate the fact you are constrained to only 4 directions. Nonetheless no dice, gog still didn't pick it up. Oh well, maybe next time

That is really weird. Then I got really lucky with my solution.
