It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hello. I've been waiting for GOG connect to work on my end for about two weeks or so. I remember I had to "miss" out on two waves of eligible games before because of it's inability to just, you know, connect on my end. I realize that there is a queue for it, but it's still frustrating that whatever algorithm is being used for this repeatedly prevents me from adding the available games into my library.
This sale, was the first time that GOG Connect didn't recognize my games, even after multiple refreshes. So what I did was to install the games via steam, then start them, and play for about 5 minutes. When I got back on GOG and hit that refresh button it immediately recognized them.

Have you tried this? I assumed that GOG Connect worked for you previously, so I didn't mention setting your steam profile as public, and all the other newbie advice.

Correct. My steam profile is public and whatnot. I already have all the pre-requisits filled, but no dice as of yet.

The games themselves are recognized on my end, by the way; it's just that the actual button to complete the "connection" won't happen at all. I don't feel it'll change much even if I were to individually install the games on steam and run each for a couple of minutes.

Have you tried the usual? Like clearing cookies, cache and using different browsers?

Something that I've thought of. Did you make sure you are permanently logged into Steam on the browser that you are using to "connect" your games? So far, it has worked for me. I'm properly logged into GOG on my browser, and also properly logged into Steam on the browser as well. I do not have either Galaxy or the Steam client installed on my system at the point.

As I mentioned, GOG Connect didn't work for me either, until I installed the games on STEAM and played a little. You could try to install a smaller game, just verify that my solution doens't work, but hopefully it will.

I've contacted support about this issue. I will update this thread in the event the issue gets resolved.

As for your question, yes, I am logged into both GOG and Steam through my browser (Which is, for the record, Chrome). I could try the usual, but I couldn't fathom why cookies, cache etc would affect the GOG connection at all. I seriously hope that isn't the case.
Maybe a little bit off topic, but what does your nickname mean?

Dump + lass

Dump (vulgar, slang, often with the verb "take") An act of defecation; a defecating.

Lass (archaic in some dialects, informal) A young woman or girl.

Or... at least that's my interpretation.

Yeah, thanks, I got those "nuanced" meanings and connected dots for more (too much internet...), I just wanted to know if it's intentional or not.
I think Steam made a GOG move and changed the settings for everyone as I sure could not remember having set things the way they were when I logged into Steam to see why it would not connect. I got it to work without installing anything but I did pull up respective game's card once.

Also, you should not wait so long to ask for help as I suspect it is too late now.

:P

The other one I came up with was Cutlass + Dump.

A faecal sword..?

Yes, probably best to wait for the OP to answer your question. :P

I do realize chances are slim...

The name simply sounded funny to me at the time, which is why I choose it. I wasn't aware it was an actual term that was used in the past. To be honest, I don't really like or care for the name as my internet handle and might ask the GOG moderators to change the name later on.

Also, in related news, the issue has been solved! I contacted support, and they forced a resync of my GOG.com and Steam accounts. I would assume this is the number one issue for people who have been thought a similar problem as mine, and I can only guess the synch errors was a malicious act on Steam's part, which quite frankly wouldn't surprise me, but I'm getting a bit too ahead of myself!
