ChFra: I believe you misunderstood me; I did not quote the other part of your comment, because I didn't intend to comment on it. I'm in fact not bothered to not get a game that somebody else wants. I just wanted to explain possible motives for "speculation" and "strategic requesting" – this "must" happen if "demand > supply".
Catventurer: Then you are trying to debate with me when I replied to someone else and said that I don't wait until things drop to the daggered section. Some of us are cool with the cooldown.
Are you trying to imply that I'm doing something wrong by being cool with the cooldown?
Or perhaps you are just trying to make this not about you?
Because I just double-checked the giveaway thread and saw that you were one of the people that was part of the clusterfuck. In Post #16711, you were approved for Neo Cab, but you didn't get Rebel Galaxy Outlaw as the number of copies available ran out.
Meanwhile, the last time that I even asked for anything was in February according to my order history, which I will attach a copy of in image format.... so please don't try to deflect and act like this is somehow about me, when it really isn't. If you're not sure, go look at #16711... you won't find my name in the post anywhere.
Or maybe you just don't understand my position on changes. They're fine unless they create more work for BenKii. The only thing I'm opposed to is changes that would make managing this project become laborious for whoever is doing it. I think that you're going to find is that most (if not all) of the people here that were likewise not part of the clusterfuck involving Rebel Galaxy Outlaw (and The Pale Beyond) are going to hold a similar position.
Cavalary: ChFra: I'm generally interested in more games than would be available with a "one per calendar month" rule applied, since they'd expire in the meantime. The situation has changed dramatically "since Amazon"…
So you're asking for a rule change to offer you a better chance to get a non-daggered game and one or more daggered games while reducing the chance of others to get multiple daggered games. Interesting...
<Wolfgang Ernst Pauli>„Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!“</Wolfgang Ernst Pauli>
Well; I'll try to explain my point of view one last time: I've seen
BenKii having moved both games to "daggered", and requested both, not thinking about "copies available" at all. The "Outlaw" game because I already have got the other one; "Neo Cab" because of the interesting story. I already had thought about requesting that earlier, but chosen an "X-COM" game instead. Later I noticed that there were way more requests than keys left – still not in case of "Neo Cab", but the other one. That's totally fine for me to not get a copy if there are more requests pending while I've already received another game this month.
However, this fact – a lot more requests than keys available – has led me here to this thread, because I wanted to change something about that.
I'm still wondering why people are assuming "greedy motives" – even not all of those who do aren't "murricans" with a known "culture" of ultra-capitalism explaining this. Perhaps has to do with me not being a native english speaker, thus being misunderstood more easily – or not – I don't get it.
I'm tempted to confront you with german sarcasm about this specific point of view, but don't do so because I assume that you'll certainly would get that wrong as well — oh, let's think twice:
Perhaps I'm also not "good enough" at english, so please (if you're a native speaker) try to imagine how you would comment about something in german, for example <oh, being cultural imperialists, you'd not even understand a single word "not in english"?> </sarcasm>.
Well, to complete my thoughts so that EVEN YOU should understand:
if I were entitled to re-distribute games, I would have done so with the goal that everyone requesting something for the current month would at least get one game, "rotating" through the requests. Especially, I would not having given myself "Neo Cab", if I had known that there were still more requests than keys left, while I had already received another game, which I wanted more.
So please refrain from trying to intrerpret my words in a way that make me look "greedy", this simply is not true.
To the contrary: I've only contributed to THIS THREAD, because I thoght that there must someting be wrong, causing me to not have foreseen a situation where there's much more "denmand" for some game than "supply" that I requested.
Please be aware that this is a "reluctant" reply – I really was tempted to answer in German in a much more unpleasnt manner) (for you).
