Interception Top 10

Hyuk Hyuk
*sniff* *whine*
I had a Goblin who intercepted a pass once. But somebody killed him.
Speaking of interceptions...

Thanks to my hare-brained move this afternoon, a Nurgle Warrior made an interception this morning to close out my game with Pogo.

So that player will probably stay up on those stats for a while...might be tough to kill that guy.
This is a rather random question that goes out to our US players:
Does any of you live near Norman, Oklahoma (Norman, OK 73069)?

you're doing perfectly fine.
Actually - according to these tips, it could be said that Khemri are the best newbie team:

-Slow to move = dont have to think about complicated maneuvers.
-Everyone has regen.
-ag2 = forget about passing => simple!
-4 str5 = newbie friendly.
-no "tricky" positionals, very straightforward team to play.
-cheap linos, just a bit slow and ag2.

Psyringe: Does anyone know the best way to contact Michal? I had to leave for a few days, and now want to arrange my match with him. Since time is running short, I wanted to make sure that I reach him. I did send him a message through the Blood Bowl contact system and a PM here on GOG, just want to make sure that I don't miss him.

Piranjade:
Thanks for the heads-up, I had missed that post. Michal replied to my PM today, it seems like we'll play on Tuesday evening. We'll be late this time, but we'll make it. :)

I'm in California, so unfortunately, that's halfway across the country for me.

Well, they are, it doesn't mean they are good, just easy to play, crush everything, try to pick the ball, that's all.

I am north of Zeta in Oregon. So not close to Oklahoma at all.

no - and thats why -i- would recommend them for newbie, although i do understand the "crashcourse" idea behind starting with stunties :)

Khemri vs halflings vs goblins (vs ogres?) -> khemris are hands down the most simple and straightforward team of them all.

Also i do understand the idea behind "stunties are joke teams and not expected to win, so its easier to start with them" - but personally i dont agree with it. Anyways not if you actually want to learn winning. You dont learn to win by losing matches and then thinking "oh it was just joke team", instead (my opinion) you can play with any team and lose as much it takes. The idea of "losing face" if you lose with "competetive team" is just mental barrier in ones own mind. The faster its broken, the better.

Also to actually win matches with stunty teams, you need to embrace tactics that are either not very viable or not so useful as your basic skills - that is fouling, passing teammates, secret weapons, playing dodgy game in general, playing with less players on the pitch and ofcourse also playing with mostly str2 players in the first place. Thats all pretty damn advanced stuff really.

I understand the logic...but i just dont agree with it - but no doubt it works for some.

Anyways, again just my own opinion - in general, the easiest way to learn to -win- in BB is to have team that is not too complicated. Team which is pretty straightforward to play, doesnt have tricky positionals and in general is just plain clear and solid. ->> the usual dwarves and orcs, norse and amazon fit just fine there. Also i _almost_ kinda could put khemri there with the only reservation being picking up the ball - but thats the only ball handling they really need to worry about. No silly passing and the included positioning - even handing off the ball is most off the time offlimits.

Also khemri are easy team to build grind routine with - as that is pretty much only strategy they play game in game out with :)

I agree. If you start with the mentality that you're going to lose anyway, so you might as well save face by using a team that is not expected to win in the first place and do silly things, you're unlikely to learn as fast as someone who tries to win, plays with a competitive team and tries to use real tactics from the start.

Sure, you might feel more down when you lose, and other players might mock you a bit if you lose all the time, but so what. The fact is, all those great players you just can't beat now started as newbies too, and they probably learned the game slowly too.
Playing to minimize the impact of your loss seems pretty stupid to me. In the end it's just a game, not a matter of life and death, and you shouldn't care so much about winning or losing that your cripple your chances to win on purpose.
