Reactions like this are a good reminder of why I have played games for 30+ years but don't feel part of the "gaming community".

2018 : still a bunch of males claiming that absence of women (same for non-white people) in some retrospective video made of reviewers is not a problem, and still have no clue about the fact that affirming that with such point of view is the mere definition of the problem...

I'm watching video-game industry evolving for 30 years, and its community is sometime showing such huge stupidity... It can't be more tribalistic non-sens... in 2018...

And others considerations like "females are not real gamers" is as stupid as affirming "hey you can't drive on the road because you don't push your car over 150mph".

Signed : an (already) old (non female) feminist gamer playing both Super meat boy and Cookie clicker (amongst others), who is (for a very long time) tired of this angry-alpha-male confinement and social withdrawal...

PS : the way that males do answer there to do some afterwards justifications (talking in the place of GoG) is wayyyyyy more problematic than the absence of women in the video.

Bloodygoodgames: I am not remotely what anyone would call a rampant feminist. I just get on with my life, stand up for myself and any other woman I think is being treated shoddily, and hope that women like me get the same rights as every guy.

But, when I just watched the 10 Years of GOG.com video (which is really nice, btw, guys), I have to say I was a tad surprised to see just men featured on the video. (And just white men, at that).

Come on, GOG, there are women that work in the gaming industry and support you.

Surely, you could have found one to feature in the 10 Year Anniversary? And not be like half the folks in the gaming industry -- insistent it's a men only world. Because that's what that video makes it look like (and again, it's a nice video, bar for the absence of anyone not male :) )

Love you guys, don't buy my games anywhere else, so would have also liked to see at least one sole woman (or for that matter even a non-white guy) in your vid :)

Just a thought to keep in mind for the future!!!

Joe Vargas is not a 'white guy'. I'd invite you to reconsider profiling people in such way as it's quite disrespectful.

As for the topic itself. I will be locking it as it's moving in a political realm but I will give you some insight that may clear things up for you.

The video project was worked on by multiple talented people both male and female, from different backgrounds and countries. The project was headed by a talented woman. The video features partners who work with us closely, be it content creators or publishers/Devs. Not everyone we reached out to had the time to make a video.

GOG/CD Red is made up for people from all different walks of life. It's quite naive to assume things based on a 5:40 video that features a handful of partners.

Additionally, I would request in future posts you do not levy a users race as means to slight or undermine them. This is not welcome here.

As I said before, the thread will now be locked. Your concerns have been heard, and I believe the answer should help clear up your assumptions.
