God of War director says single-player games are here to stay

I don't like "multiplayer" games since I stopped going to the arcades.
People were actually worried about this?

Always, all the time. You always read some asshole on every damn forum or site stating that "single player games are dead, multiplayer is soooo much better!" etc. etc.
Single Player games were dead a few years ago, according to Game industry experts. They were on the way out because no one wanted to be a socially awkward shut-in. Huh. Who'dathunkit that they were wrong?
Damn right they are !

I was never worried anyway because it always sounded like an exaggeration from the AAA industry to protect their MTX ridden cash cows, who cares about facts when you can explain things away and atleast take some heat away from the practice for a time while the money flows in.

Even if it where true i still have my indie single player games where my interest lies now along with classics and a select few AAA titles, could be worse.

A thousand times this. There is no shortage of SP games once one removes the AAA goggles. As someone who mostly plays indie and/or low to mid budget games (mostly japanese), i haven't had a moment of wanting for more.
Skyrim is one such dead game that is being constantly rereleased 7 years after its original release. Obviously, it's a huge failure and Bethesda keeps on doing it just for shits and giggles. Fallout 4 is another dead game, with a mere 12 million copies shipped in its first 24 hours.

Conclusion; single-player games don't offer a sense of pride and accomplishment.
