Go to the front page of GOG.COM to claim your complimentary copies of Syberia and Syberia II before the offer ends on 17th July 2021, at 1 PM UTC.

eiii: Nice giveaway, although I already have bought both games long ago.

But unfortunately this giveaway comes with yet another drawback for loyal customers, no more gift codes when you already own the gifted games. So GOG went from unlimited gift codes to gift codes with a short expiration time to no more gift codes at all on giveaways. :(
I believe this is one instance of a known GOG bug where even owning all games from some package doesn't mark the package owned.

If you try to search for "Syberia" , you will see that it lists Syberia, Syberia II, and Syberia I & II separately. So presumably you had, according to GOG's records, one of those previously not owned, and claiming this freebie marked that one owned.

So from a certain point of view, you really did get something, although that doesn't make more games appear in your shelf. There have been lots of discussions about this bug or feature before.
Why Syberia 3 isn't included in this promo ? Is it that bad ?

Depends on who you ask. It is quite different than 1 and 2 - especially because they focused on conroller first and added mouse control (point and click) later when people complained. Except for the characters it has nothing to do with Syberia 1 and 2 since the story is concluded with Syberia 2. You also might experience some bugs (in my case I got missing mouse pointers and performance issues) and it is highly unlikely that Microids will ever fix those. Developing Syberia 3 was not cheap and unfortunately it was not a success. Last but not least - it ends with a cliffhanger so all fingers crossed that the fourth part still will come out even without Sokal.

Speaking of Sokal.
@GOG you could really honor him in bringing the missing Sokal games here. "Sinking Island" and "Paradise".

@Community: Please vote below if you want those games here.

Thanks for the explanation .

How can this nonsensical but unfortunately typical GOG behaviour called "a feature"? I fail to see anything positive with it and I am pretty sure that GOG never chjanged it because they don't know how.

my name is capitayn catte: I'm not aware of Benoit Sokal's involvement in Return to Mysterious Island, are you sure about that? You might be thinking of Sinking Island.
avatar
Dogmaus: you're right, my few neurons remembered a Benoit involved but it was the CEO at Kheops, Benoit Hozjan. Pardon.
You still made a good point - it's very strange that Return to Mysterious Island 2 isn't here (not to mention a lot of other Kheops and Cryo games). I ended up more or less completing my Kheops collection at Fireflower Games.

It's not included because presumably they're hoping you'll buy it after playing 1+2.

I already own both games but I appreciate the offer!!

If you like the genre, you should definitelly install them. Some things like character models have aged badly while the OST and other contents are eternal.

of course! Understandable policy. And they have to finance the new Syberia so I might be happy to support in some future sale.

Some of them coud be had for free on Big Fish when they were giving out all those codes. I made a list with the help of other users:
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/suggestions_for_big_fish_games_to_redeem_with_their_free_codes/page1

But I'd like to have the installers in my desired language DRM-free here.

About FireFlower games: do they ever make sales? Their sale page is very empty.
Anyway I registered to get a freebie, and I could download an off-line installer!

They don't have multiple sales per week like GOG or Steam so it's not uncommon for the sales page to be empty. The sales are smaller too, usually just one game or one series. There was a time when they had a weekly sale at the weekend but it's a little less frequent now. Pretty much everything I have there I bought when it was on sale and I have 51 games (although a small number are permanently free).

IIRC the last big sale was Xmas.

thanks! It's very interesting and I might get something there! I signed up to the new-letter so hopefully I'll be notified when there is a sale.

As someone who LOVE this series, I'm glad that more people will be exposed to this amazing game. I already bought the first two, I'm going to complete my collection.
