By the way, this is a very specific case of "transferring account" so it would be helpful if we had a specific answer from itch.io. No money was used to build this account, all the games were added for free.

I'm sure that unofficially all these companies accept that accounts are shared/transferrred between family members/friends, it's part of the game and they can't fight against it. They just don't make it official because that would allow a market for buying/selling accounts which would reduce their earnings.

elcook: All right people, I received a reply from itch.io support. And what is even better, there is a solution for this situation that should work best and the giveaway can happen.
Itch.io's support can handle transfers of both games and purchases between accounts - there is the consent of both account holders required to do this. So I'd suggest to transfer games from greeklover's account to the winner of this giveaway account via itch.io support.

Also, totally agree with MarkoH01, please let's not turn this thread (or any other on GOG forums) to a political debate - it's for the sanity of all of us ;)
thanks for getting this confirmation, and that's very decent of itch.io. more DD sites should learn from them (though not on how to write a ToS...)

Wow! That was a fast reply and a pretty good news (not TM) as well. Thanks to elcook for looking into this matter. If this would be the Steam forums the thread would have simply be locked without further notice ... THESE are the things that are showing me my decision to support GOG is the correct one.

And since this is now officially going on (I am not in btw.) again I'd like to point out again how much fun I had with "Dark Train" which is on the account as well. The devs are planning several "sequels" (this game is not about the story but still nice to see that they do additional stuff similar to this).

I don't even know if you are serious here but no, it has nothing to do with all of that. I explained why I liked the way GOG was handling this here so I would say it's quite objectively a good thing, wouldn't you agree?

Wow. I have wanted to get more into itch.io for a while. Despite its shortcomings, the site has better VR support and adult content than GOG, and the lack of quality control makes it more fun to explore. Yet, so far I have only a total of 12 items on my Itch account, the majority being game creation assets. AND THEN I WIN THIS EPIC COLLECTION!!!!! :-D
