Great news! Loved the demo. On my wishlist for a day one buy. :)
Thanks for keeping us updated.
Fantastic news! ( :

I backed this on Kickstarter, and I've been really looking forward to it.

That's nice. But somehow that game really isn't my cup of tea. It might work as a parody/homage/spoof of the Lucas Arts classics (for example the voodoo guy is a very obvious spoof of the Monkey Island voodoo lady), but why throw Lovecraft in? The comic art style might work for funny themes like DOTT or Sam'n'Max. Well, it would still be ugly, but it would fit the theme somehow. But with Cthulhu thrown in it doesn't work for me at all. I prefer my horror themed games to be dark (Prisoner of Ice, Shadow of the Comet, Alone in the Dark. The style of Beneath A Steel Sky would fit as well).

So, all in all very nice that it will be released here. But not my cup of tea.

Hey just found out about this game, looks nice! Although I am a bit prejudiced against Unity (especially for this type of games) I am happy that "classic" adventure games are still being developed & will probably support it.
Nice explanation on why they think it works. But I still don't like the art-style.

Actually the comic style kept me from buying Monkey Island 3 when it came out. I bought it much later and found out that it was a great game in spite of the comic style. But still the atmosphere of the first two Monkey Island games where much better and it's a pity that they thought they had to 'modernize' it.

But I digress. I think I'll try the demo of this game at some point in the future when I have the time. Then I'll see whether this 'Cthulhu + jokes + bad art' fusion works for me. :-)

If you don't like the artstyle maybe this game really is not for you and unfortunateley - since the demo is 2 years old (maybe they will upload a newer one but so far they haven't) - it also does not contain very much "Cthulhu" at all. But please let me tell you that the lead from SiA whose idea this game was is not just a big fan of the old Lucas adventures (the artstyle shows of couse and the voodoo guy also resembles Tim Schafer) he also ADORES H.P. Lovecraft a lot. I followed those devs the last 2 years and he really knows his Lovecraft (probably much more than me) so I am sure he will make sure to not destroy the myth. Just look what he drew yesterday when he had the time (see attachment).

Oh wow! Now THAT would be an art-style for a Cthulhu adventure! :-)

So you see he actually knows and loves his Cthulhu. But he also loves those old Lucas point of clicks and grew up with them so he decided to combine those two.

Tell me how that works out when the finished game is released. Perhaps I'll manage to see past the style if the rest of the game is really good.

The first sentence from their Kickstarter page (emphasis added):

"A comedy cosmic horror point and click adventure made in Transylvania. Lucas Arts style, Lovecraftian horrors, general insanity!"

This isn't supposed to be a horror game, but a comedy game. I think the style fits perfectly (although I haven't seen any gameplay, so I don't know how well it works).
First launch trailer is out (for now just on Steam):
https://store.steampowered.com/app/914020/Gibbous___A_Cthulhu_Adventure/

If you have a Steam account please wishlist it there as well as it will help the devs make the game visible. It does not matter if you plan to buy it here on GOG - just put it on the wishlist. Thank you :)
