They really seem like cool people, and the way they've been running this campaign tells me they really know what they're doing. Kickstarter is always a gamble, but I'm pretty confident about these guys.

This seems like good stuff!
Erm... I'm properly sceptical of a Lovecraftian comedy. I think it would be easy for the dark brooding horror of the Lovecraft mythos to be completely destroyed if it's played for laughs.
I'm not a big fan of LucasArts (more of a Sierra-type adventure gamer myself :-) ), but I do love adventure games, Lovecraft and cats, so had to try out this demo, and I loved it! They really did a great job on the art style, the atmosphere is wonderful and the humor is fantastic. So totally backed this! Fingers crossed they make most of their stretch goals, and I do hope to see the game here on Gog as well.

Great to hear this, Corwim. Could it be that you were in their live stream chat today as well? Those guys really rock.
Corwim also supported his first Kickstarter ever with Gibbous!

Always neat to find out what project makes a KS lurker finally pull the trigger and back one.

Yup, I was! :-) Twitch didn't accept my screen name, so had to add a few extra letters there lol, so might have been a little confusing. Great stream indeed, just shows how dedicated the guys from Stuck In Attic really are, plus a good showcase of their enthousiam and sense of humor (Finnish bogs, what was that all about? :-D )

Hehe, indeed a KS virgin no more! ;-) The demo showed me what they were capable of (great art style and animation, wonderful humor and fun puzzles), the combo of humor, Lovecraft and cats has me really intrigued for the full game and their kickstarter campaign page showed me their professionalism and has me convinced that they can really pull of this project, plus their prices are very reasonable (no 150$ for a physical copy as I've seen in other kickstarters). So all in all, there was simply nothing here that was holding me back, hence my first kickstarter pledge! :-)

You can partially blame Mr.Monttu for the Finnish reindeer, bugs, bogs, cold, holes in the ground with water, and all that madness from the last 5 or so minutes. He admitted to being from Finland. Mix in Liviu and Cami being tired and a little out of their minds, with an accent (saying bogs, but us hearing bugs) and insanity laughter ensues.

As a collector of things physical, it does indeed make me a little sad inside when the base physical game starts at such a high pledge tier. Glad the Stuck In Attic folks were able to provide such a well-thought campaign that checked all of the boxes for you!

Oh Edit button, how I miss you on KS.

Ok, so, the EFIGS stretch goal has been passed! So all of the in-game text will now be translated into English, French, Italian, German and Spanish!

I'm really happy with how this campaign is gone and proud to be a backer. Things seem to be doing great these past few days so it's possibly that some more stretch goals will also be passed. Excited to see how high we can go.
How did I manage to miss this thread until now?

Game looks right up my alley, voted on the wishlist.

I'd consider backing it if they had a PayPal campaign on their site now that they've reached their funding goal. As things are, I'll wait for its release.

Hehe, it was comedy gold, never laughed so hard before during a live chat! :-) And however or who started it, it proved to me again that they have a great sense of humor, whether they are tired or not.

For me $50 is a very reasonable price for a physical release during a Kickstarter campaign. That should cover all the printing and production costs and such, and that's a price I'm more than willing to pay to a talented developer with a promising game. But 150 or $200 just for a physical release, that's a bit extravagant, and well, way out of my budget. Luckily the Stuck In Attic folks are using very fair pricing, and I happily upped my pledge to now include a t-shirt as well. :-) Again, it's how a Kickstarter campaign should be run!

Awesome news! Now crossing my fingers they'll also make the stretch goals for real instruments and more animation!!!

Hi HypersomniacLive,
if I would have known that this is your kind of game I would have sent you a PM with a link to this. I am really glad you like the game. I am a backer as well (cannot wait for my Kitteh T-Shirt to arrive in a year or so ;)) and the devs as well as the demo are absolutely awesome. As for paypal: afaik Kickstarter does not offer any paypal

https://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/backer+questions?

so that is probably not the devs fault. Unfortunately I don't know a workaround either. You should also really watch their archived livestream here:

https://www.twitch.tv/liviuboar/profile

just to see how awesome and nice they are (until now I only said this about the GOG community). It's really a blast being part of this campaign and you should not miss it.

So please don't stop to spread the news and the kickstarter link and always tell people that there is afree demo included - it was what hooked me first :) The campaign is pretty strong now but it can always get better and more backers are more funds to help the devs to makle the best game possible, We NEED a great point and click adventure like this.

@Mykll and Corwim and llamas: Also nice to see you here again :)

In their latest update, they mention that they are looking into adding a Slacker Backer Paypal-like option after the campaign is done, so keep an eye out for it. :-)

Source:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/777841902/gibbous-a-cthulhu-adventure/posts/1566142

In their own words:
"Keeping It Going After the Kickstarter's Done

A lot of you guys have suggested to add a slacker backer PayPal kind of option once the campaign's done. We've been looking into it, and there's like a 98% chance that that will happen, we just don't exactly know whether it will be PayPal or some other similar service. Rest assured that our top (and only) tech guy, Nicu, is all over the problem like tentacles on an innocent Old One victim."
