Given that there are a ton of classic games missing from the GOG catalog, I thought it would be nice to start a thread where people can discuss what they have done to reach out to developers and help bring attention to GOGcom. Just recently, I started emailing different devs/publishers to let them know about the relative popularly of their games here as per the community wishlist.

For instance, last week I emailed Epic games regarding the popularity of the Jazz Jackrabbit series. I received a nice email back today. It follows:

"Thanks for contacting Epic Games Player Support. While we mainly assist with gameplay, launcher, billing and account related issues we will pass on your thoughts and concerns regarding these games and their availability so that your concerns can be heard. If you have any other questions we can assist you with please let me know."

I know it's probably a brush off answer, but I thought it was nice enough that customer support responded to me. Here's hoping that something good comes out of our collective action!
I can share a past success story, though I'm not mad enough to think I was the only one that made this happen:

After I got wind of "Never Alone" being released on Steam and thinking the game was cool, I wrote an email to the devs asking them to consider GoG as an alternate distribution channel, and explaining a bit about those crazy people that don't really like to use Steam at all.

I was very skeptical at first, because I got a similar "Yes, we'll consider other distribution channels in the future - please move along" email, but hey, almost a year later the game was released on GoG.

Can't really give them a medal for the reaction time, but I've got to appreciate the fact they got the message.

It's never hurts to try! +1 to astroclay!

I think there's already at least one thread about this, but I don't remember how it's called...

The search for game rights (a diary-esque thread), though not sure if it remains active anymore.

Yeah, that one. Best to keep everything in one place. :)
Ah, thanks for the link tfishell! Your constant work to alert devs and publishers about the GOG community's interest in older games actually inspired me to do the same. I guess I'll move on over to the DRM-free mini revolution thread if I make any more progress!
Btw. I think Nordic Games deserve a kick in the ass for selling Imperium Galactica 2 on Android, yet not on the PC.

Well that's pretty much in the past now, but thanks. ;)

I don't know. It took Epic's support team over a week to respond to me, and their message directly addressed my question concerning the viability of their older series. So, I'm pretty sure it was a real person that responded.

However, the answer I received was probably canned. Even so, it sure would be cool if they had really passed the information on to someone in sales :P
I've asked Team17 to release worms armageddon on gog quite often. Pestered them on facebook about it too.
I once sent an email to square enix to get the final fantasy games on gog, but no response from either of those two unfortunately. And I think 1 or 2 other instances. I mean i do try, but sometimes I feel like it's wasted time.

Oh and the AVGN game I also asked. Then I got harrassed by the fanbase of wanting it only so I could pirate the game... *facepalm*

I asked Blizzard to release the Diablo trilogy here and they said they're going to get right on that so fast that Chris Metzen couldn't keep up with the pace of it so he had to retire!
I asked Egosoft some time ago if they would please release the X games on GOG.

I usually don't feel strongly enough about most franchises to make that kind of request, but I really liked X2.

Considered doing for that new Road Redemption game as I really liked the Road Rash franchise. Haven't gotten around to it yet.

After having tried the demo for Qbeh-1: The Atlas Cube, I messaged the dev via Twitter to see if they had any interest bringing it to GOG & they said they were trying to get it here, so I sat & waited to buy it here rather than steam.

Alas, nothing occurred & I'm guessing GOG perhaps decided not to accept it.
Shame though, whatever happened.
